Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Assuming no further injuries etc, who do people think is going/who would you pick? I don't actually care, but it's an amusing exercise I did last time with a mate & seeing where the differences arise. course, you can tailor the makeup of the positions, i.e. take 2 keepers or 4 instead of 3
Bailo Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Goalkeepers: w*****, t***, s***. Defenders: Tweety Pie, Tweedledum, J. Carragher (Liverpool), Prick, Loser, w***stain, a****** Midfielders: Cockgoblin, S. Gerrard (Liverpool), Fat Turd, p*******s, Nobjockey, The Diving Swan, The Prancing Filly, Thundercnut Strikers: The Welsh Dragon, Granny Shagger, P. Crouch (Liverpool), Loadsamoney, Lolloping Wazzock
Stevie H Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 gerrard, carragher and crouch. if cole and bridge's injuries keep up then even warnock has a chance.
Gilps Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Think it will be: Robinson, James, GreenG Neville, Young, Ferdinand, Terry, Carra, King, A Cole, Bridge (or P Neville)Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick, Jenas, Beckham, Wright-Phillips, J Cole, RichardsonOwen, Rooney, Crouch, Defoe
Stevie H Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Think it will be: Robinson, James, GreenG Neville, Young, Ferdinand, Terry, Carra, King, A Cole, Bridge (or P Neville)Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick, Jenas, Beckham, Wright-Phillips, J Cole, RichardsonOwen, Rooney, Crouch, Defoe reckon that's probably about right in all honesty. i remain amazed that jenas holds down a place in the squad though. particularly ahead of the likes of parker, nolan and barton. you're writing sol off then are you gilps?
galés rojo Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 gerrard, carragher and crouch. if cole and bridge's injuries keep up then even warnock has a chance. You lot should take Gareth Barry would be a good option at left back, left mid and even center mid.
Gilps Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 reckon that's probably about right in all honesty. i remain amazed that jenas holds down a place in the squad though. particularly ahead of the likes of parker, nolan and barton. you're writing sol off then are you gilps? Jenas wouldn't be anywhere near my squad - any of those three you list should be in ahead of him. But all the pointers are that Eriksson rates him so he'll go if fit. Can't see Campbell getting enough football at Arsenal by the end of the season to justify edging King out. Real shame, as he's been a great servant for England over the last four tournaments.
Gilps Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Can't see it Macca. Owen, Rooney and Crouch are certainties and he'll only take one other striker. Defoe's ahead of him, Bent didn't help himself last night but is probably still ahead of him. A recall for Vassell would be likelier on this season's form.
Murphman Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Who gives a f***. Jocko in 'We don't give a feck about The World Cup and wouldn't have gone to Germany anyway even if we weren't shyte and didnae qualify again' shock.
libero Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Jocko in 'We don't give a feck about The World Cup and wouldn't have gone to Germany anyway even if we weren't shyte and didnae qualify again' shock. Stop it stop it my ribs are powder
Guest Anders Honoré Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Downing should be in there ahead of richardson. And surely defoe can't get in there from the bench? Has Heskey been completely forgotten?
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 for me, it would be: Robinson, James, CarsonG Neville, Ferdinand, Terry, Carragher, King, A Cole, BridgeGerrard, Lampard, Carrick, Nolan, Parker, Beckham, Wright-Phillips, J Cole, DowningOwen, Rooney, Crouch, Bent
New York Red Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Think it will be: Robinson, James, GreenG Neville, Young, Ferdinand, Terry, Carra, King, A Cole, Bridge (or P Neville)Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick, Jenas, Beckham, Wright-Phillips, J Cole, RichardsonOwen, Rooney, Crouch, Defoe I'd pick that squad exactly with one exception. Hargreaves instead of Richardson.

Kvarme Ate My Food Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I'd pick that squad exactly with one exception. Hargreaves instead of Richardson. Hargreaves is waaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated
floyd the barber Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 (edited) hargreaves has good experience, not forgetting the fact this world cup is to be played in germany.. He`ll provide good back up to Gerrard.. Id put hargreaves in place of jenas. Edited March 2, 2006 by Winding Wheel
fitzy Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Who gives a f***. you went into this thread just to say that, what a sad man
Falconhoof Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Sven will have Hargreaves in the squad. I wouldn't myself but he's a big Eriksson favourite when the tournaments come around. I wouldn't be surprised if Phil Neville was in the squad, another bizarre Sven favourite.
Billy Talbot Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Robinson, James, GreenG Neville, Young, Ferdinand, Terry, Carra, King, A Cole, Bridge (or P Neville)Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick, Jenas, Beckham, Wright-Phillips, J Cole, RichardsonOwen, Rooney, Crouch, Defoe I think is spot on. If it were me I'd be looking to loose Richardson and add another forward. I don't think 4 is enough. If one gets injured early on, 3 forwards ain't enough.
