Shanklyanfield Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Reasons added why you would or why you wouldn't start him would be good as well!
Guest Jack Bauer Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I'd have God and Crouchy infront of him, but not Cisse.
Ombudsam Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 no. because he's not very good and we can scrape together enough players not to play him. We'll rotate anyway. Should have kept mellor and FSP with hindsight
Kite Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Stupid poll. The starting striker should be the one that is fit for the job, whoever that is at the time. This immature vilification of Morientes is degrading altogether.
chrisbonnie Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 ive said my piece in the Cisse being treated unfairly thread i voted no, Morientes does not deserve a starting place, easily our worst striker in recent years
stressederic Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 i voted no, Morientes does not deserve a starting place, easily our worst striker in recent years Laughable
nd Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Where's the "as long as we're winning, I don't care who's up front" option? I voted 'yes'. Crouch and Morientes are our best options. *None* of our strikers are scoring, which to me suggests that's the problem *might* be due to something other than personnel. But as long as we're winning...I really don't care. Rafa will be vindicated on this I feel. Moro will score the goals that get us past Benfica or something. I agree with Lenin. The hounding of Morientes is degrading to us as fans: a striker low on confidence needs to be cheered. And why do I get the feeling that Fowler could go fourteen games without scoring and some people would still defend him?
vish Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Where's the "as long as we're winning, I don't care who's up front" option? Thats a kop out answer I agree with Lenin. The hounding of Morientes is degrading to us as fans: a striker low on confidence needs to be cheered. And the hounding of Cisse isn't? Cisse is being hounded (deservedly or not). The fans are being patient with Moro.... he isn't being 'hounded'
Ombudsam Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 . Rafa will be vindicated on this I feel. Moro will score the goals that get us past Benfica or something. That wouldn't be vindication though. I too think moro still has something to say in europe this season
Knox_Harrington Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 That wouldn't be vindication though.No it wouldn't be.

The manager himself has criticised Cisse and his bad attitude and slack dedication are there for anyone to see. That is not hounding. There's a huge difference in watching a player get out there and play as well as he can for the team, support others, play intelligently and be totally crap when with the ball in front of goal, and a player who stands about a bit watching the game and then comes off the pitch again.

Thank you. Put it better than I would've. Strange that people think that Cisse and Morientes' cases are the same or similar...seeing as one puts in 110% everytime he plays and contributes in one way or another to the team effort and spirit...where as one just stands there.
Cooldude Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 He played well yesterday Robbie's not fit enough yet and nothing else needs to be said about Cisse, so yes
fyds Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Yes, he should - In tandem with Crouch.I would agree - there were good signs at times that they were getting each others range today. I don't see the point in singling out Nando - none - not one - of our strikers are firing them in at the moment, and Nando and Crouch's other work for the team at the very least helps make acceptable chances for others. When someone starts firing them in on a regular basis again - better still, when two do - then this debate is worth having.
mercury Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Mori played more like a midfield yesterday! Worked hard to track back and his distribution was delightful. However inside the penalty box there is not a shred of confidence!! It's really a shame.
