- So - I’m going for Arsenal to win the league. I think we’ve done too much in the transfer window to seamlessly carry on from last season. I’m expecting a struggle (relatively speaking) pre Christmas before properly gelling and getting our act together afterwards and kicking on to finish runners up and winning Big Ears No.7

Arsenal - have strengthened where they needed to. I think Saka is gonna have a big season and their defence remains pretty solid.

I also see a return to some semblance of form for the Mancs. No European football will bolster their domestic chances, keeping players fresh and improving on Amorim’s tactical plans. They still have Onana in nets so 5th and a spwany cup win will represent a great season for them and they’ll fancy themselves the season after when it will all turn to s*** once gain.

At the bottom I think one of the 3 newbies stays up (at least) - and having learned to defend (a bit) last season I think they’re the best bet of the 3 to do that. Brentford have lost their strike force and have stuck a set piece coach in as manager. I think they’re doomed - though I hope for Hendo/Kelleher I’m wrong on that.

I think this is the big thing for this season. We've made a lot of changes which may well take time to settle. If we do struggle, Arsenal are likely the beneficiaries.

But I keep coming back to the way that Arteta repeatedly kept trying to get Arsenal to shut up shop when 1-0 or 2-1 up in games last season and ended up throwing the points away. Maybe he'll adapt to that with a better striker now but I think that aspect of his character might do for them again.

Last season they ended up playing Merino up front - they’ve got Gykores, Havertz & Jesus now back fit (I’m assuming). Saka too.

Zubimendi might be a flop but I expect him to be good and give added control to their midfield.

They (Arteta) certainly have no excuses if they don’t deliver one of the big two trophies this season.

City are an interesting proposition after last season’s nothingness. If they and Haaland get their act together they could return to the top. But they’ve lost that air of invincibility they had and I think teams can start matches believing they can get at them and that makes a difference. Oh and they are massive cheats, so fuxk them.

Chelsea, World Champions 🤣 without a pre-season will drop off at some point.

Everton probably have enough to stay up - the Moyesy doggedness will see them eke out enough pts. Interesting to see how Grealish goes there.

Retaining the Title is hard enough without the excessive changes we have made. Selling Diaz was a monumental blunder while Witz will make us pretty to watch but easier to play against.

Strong words, BB - but I do agree with your thoughts on the Diaz sale. I’d have given him the new deal myself - maybe we had to for the PSR numbers to work but still…

Like BB, I wouldn’t have sold Diaz. It’s made us more unbalanced, but I think Gakpo, Ekitike, Nghoma will just about compensate, and CF is clearly better. If we get Guehi, I think we’re stronger at CB than last season. I’d personally have Robbo as starting LB though. Arsenal? Nah, not having it. Gyokeres will score less than 15, and their better players last season (Havertz, Merino) no longer have an obvious starting place. Think they’re weak at RB too. City will crash and burn, Guardiola won’t last the season.

Think the top 3 will be very tight, but we've got the best first 11 and a manager who's head won't explode. Luck with injuries will be crucial

Yep, I actually fear them. Hopefully everyone can bump this in a few weeks to mercilessly laugh at me as they hover around the relegation zone.

Obviously, I'll claim it as mockering and demand gratitude.
