  1. And then include the full game, along with other season highlights, on the end of year VHS.
  2. Why didn't we start playing selling clubs off against each other earlier? We'd probably have already have sorted a right winger if we did. Fine not to massively overpay, but only now, as the window is about to close we're telling the market we have options, to try to force someone's hand.
  3. Is it just us that seems to make a play of: agreeing personal terms with the player, smirking at the selling club that they'll now have to drop their price, and then being told they'll do nothing of the sort? In any event we seem pretty expert at it now.
  4. He'll be at right back...
  5. I hear we're at deadlock again on Barcola after an irregular percentage reduction was applied to the original price. We are demanding .666 euro cents recurring is rounded down and are prepared to walk away if PSG continue to insist on 67 cents.
  6. Let's do a job-lot rate for their squad, see what we get.
  7. Hard to believe 12 months after Bournemouth ran unchallenged through our midfield to score, Newcastle did exactly the same last weekend. A new CM has to be the top priority. Barcola, Minteh etc, great, but the roof is leaking and new wingers aren't going to stop that. Truly bonkers if we don't sign a midfielder.
  8. Don't get this. Whatever his limitations he's one of our few fairly regular goalscorers.
  9. I'm guessing Bournemouth faced fewer low blocks than us, so he had more opportunities to just bomb forward into space. Here he'll need to work it through defences in tight spaces, and not sure he's got the craft to do that.
  10. Still concerned that we're lacking leaders and people who know the standards required. Virgil is doing what he can still but we need someone else, ideally in midfield. For different reasons none of MacAlister, Dom or Grav look like standard-bearers that can motivate those around them.
  11. Going into the last week of the window in a who-blinks-first competition with PSG, Brighton and whoever else, doesn't fill me full of optimism. We don't have a great record down the years of that turning out well.
  12. Christ that's bleak.
  13. Hopefully Gakpo stays and gets more of a central role (backing up Isak). He knows where the goal is, and if we can get him in around the box more, he could be an important player this season.
  14. Our parsleymonious approach to this transfer window continues.
  15. Maybe not going ahead with Mbaye.
  16. Arsenal are favourites justifiably despite not being that good last season. Unfortunately they could win it again by being solid and the best of an average bunch. Unless one of us, City, Chelsea get it right from the off. Either way don't think the A*se win it easy. Can't see Man U being contenders.
  17. Wharton's bought a Gerrard Istanbul 2005 shirt and is buzzing about it apparently. It's on, etc.
  18. Hopefully we're in for Wharton if Curtis goes. Him, Grav, Mac and Endo as deep-lying midfielders. Gives us better passing than we currently have against low blocks.
  19. I'm not (yet) seeing proven winners or leaders. Who are the next versions of Virgil/Henderson/Milner/Gerrard? Hopefully one or more will emerge, but too early to say if they will, and who that will be.
  20. Haha, sure I deserved it. And in the spirit of passing on apologies I also owe one to @surf and @PaulMcC186 for drunken downvotes during the WC!
  21. When Gillet and Hicks came in some of us were saying this is not a road Liverpool should be going down. Others were saying it's not much different to David Moores, if we can challenge Chelsea/Abramovich etc then it's worth it, and anyway that's the way football is going, we can't be left behind. Thought that was b*llocks then and now. It's the same incrementalism generally used to avoid moral choices and reap financial benefits. Show us the money and we can adjust our ethics accordingly Bezos funded takeover of our club is the next step along that path for football and is obviously v bleak. For those who say well the club will be there after the billionaires have gone, I'm not sure they will go, and if they do, what's left behind may not be pretty.
  22. Terrible news. What a legend.
  23. Why are they banging on about Yamal. He was sh*te.
  24. Haha Argentina. No class.
