Pre-season 25-26 thread

Starting this one as a container for chat about the pre-season games.

Aware that people may not be comfortable engaging with this at the moment, so if we keep it in here people can choose to take part or not.

• Sunday 13 July - Preston (A) - 1500 KO - ITV1 / LFC TV
• Saturday 26 July - AC Milan (Hong Kong) - 1230 KO - LFC TV
• Wednesday 30 July - Yokohama (A) - 1130KO - LFC TV
• Monday 4 August - Athletic Club Bilbao (H) - 1700 & 2000 KOs - LFC TV 
• Sunday 10 August - Community Shield (Wembley) - 1500 KO - TNT Sports

I think it’s perfectly acceptable to have a thread to discuss/follow given the decision has already been made to go ahead with the games. 
 

Curious to see who gets a run out tomorrow

I have no expectations of the players in the foreseeable future given the circumstances, hopefully at least they get their mind off everything whilst they play if nothing else. Seeing Mo and Virgil devastated yesterday, was heartbreaking

I would have thought we would have had a couple more friendlies. Wouldn't surprise me if there were a couple of behind closed door games. We could well have a lot of new players and help integrate them and help with rhythm

I was wondering if we might start strong tomorrow and change it after 30mins. Can imagine Virgil wanting to lead the team out for the first time since as an example

It's not unusual for the first game to have three groups playing 30 mins each - may well happen tomorrow given that the players went back a few days back later than planned

We had 6 friendlies last season, one of which was a double header. This year we have 5 (including the Community shield)

Yes, for the under 21's as well as being registered as an over-age player.

Probably partly because we're not sure which numbers will be freed up yet, but also because I assume they want to sell the new Adidas kits with the right numbers rather than the old Nike ones.

When Alisson was photo'd in his civvies at Anfield the other day I figured he was behind the rest of the squad.
