One: Why do goalkeepers come out to warm up a good few mins before the rest of the squad - it even happens here now in semi pro football.

Two: Most, not all, clocks stop at 45:00 or 90:00 mins at grounds - why not continue ?

For the clocks, I would think this is because the word ‘minimum’ is used when added time is announced, you can imagine loads of lads kicking off if that ticks over the ‘minimum seven minutes’ for example.

With goalkeepers, they have their own dedicated coach, I’m fully expecting the set piece coach and the throw in specialist to get on board with this early nonsense next season.

Arsenal will have to be out on the pitch the night before.

Talking about the f***ing Ballon d'Or as if it were relevant to anything.

Have no basis for this but wonder if it's the Brits who are the weirdos, thinking it means stuff all? It's origins as European player of the year had some cachet, non? Certainly more to it than that FIFA award invented to get one up on UEFA due to its links to the Balloon.

Honestly no idea, but have assumed it's a consequence of more coverage of football in general, via social media, podcasts and clickbaity YouTube nonsense etc.

I feel like for a long time the Ballon d'Or was just this trinket that went to some lad who won the World Cup that year, and people would be like, "Yeah, fine." But in the last year or so it's felt like people (and not just Rio bloody Ferdinand) are braying about it all the time. Does anyone other than Real Madrid really care?

Yup. Not going to happen is it. And probably hasn't since he was at primary school - TWENTY years ago.

Ban ankle socks. Apart from looking silly, an obvious danger to the wearer.

Effectively "ban" the knee slide goal celebration. Automatic yellow card with attendant consequences.

No yellow card for player removing shirt in goal celebration providing player keeps control of the shirt and puts it back on without delaying restart.

the player removing shirt was all due to Robbie and the  dockers wasn't it?

I wasn't being entirely serious about banning but, for me, it's just naff. Not as bad as most personalised stuff that look as though Matthew Bourne has been involved,

I like socks by ankles, reminds me of the last 10 mins in a 1970s FA Cup Final

knee slides.....I mean the grass is intercut with artificial stuff isn't it? Must burn? I wouldn't knee slide, mind I've never played on a pitch that flat, local pitches you'd hit a rodent hole and bust something.

Always thought shirts off - while the official line seemed to be 'antagonizing opposition fans' was more about sponsors - you've scored, everyone's taking pictures and the shirt is off thereby denying the corporate bloodsuckers eyeballs

The theatrical palaver that takes place every bleedin time by the corner taker placing the ball so that it overlaps with the corner quadrant line by 0.00135 mm and the subsequent checking by the lino to make sure it’s not outside that quadrant.

Set piece coaches.

Cannon

Sun

One-way trip

Please, every last one of them.

You want to ban the sun?

Agree about the cannons. I'd also ban muskets and colt revolvers.  And actually, Gatling guns can f*** off as well

Bob Dylan was trying to ban cannonballs years ago. Never succeeded did he.
