There really aren't many better. Ibou has had a massive season, and one bad Endrick tackle aside, he's been fit for all of it too.

How did he pass a medical when he was so unfit he couldn’t get up to fitness in a season?

Hughes at the team can’t blame anyone else for this either. Should’ve been renewed in the summer.

rodrygo - would love the player, but not sure about the man. Madrid players tend to have poor character. Hard to tell of course but wirtz personality would fit our culture better.

Cos he was £12m and probably an £80-£100m player.

if he's not signing a new contract we lose out anyway. 

If he's here for another season with no intention of signing, his best use is as cover for his long term replacement. 

Obviously that requires his long term replacement to be as good as or better than him, but that's the game isn't it?

If he wants to sign a new contract that's fine. We can sell Gomez and/or Quansah.
