Going to Celtic is as sure a way in football to add titles to your CV, so I'll give him some grudging respect if he's turned it down in favour of learning more elsewhere.

Celtic job is a bit if a non job at the minute. Never was much competition up there, but with 3 of the big trans all out of the league now, there's no challenge for Celtic or for their manager. Maybe keane just didn't fancy that.

I'd have thought a season of bedding in and playing in the Champions League before the (relative) big boys return next year (to give him 4 competitive league games a year) would have appealed to him.

I think the biggest problem with the Celtic job at the moment is your success is basically defined by one match - the champions league qualifier.

 

Lose that (Potentially tricky tie) and your up against it big time. You are supposed to win the league especially at the moment.

 

Celtic are in limbo as a club (Along with Rangers) as they are way too big for their home league compared to other teams. I think the only thing that can help them is admittance to the English league (Not going to happen) or a European league with multiple tiers (Never say never)
