STEVEN and Alex Gerrard are expecting their third child.

 

The Liverpool FC star and his wife, who married in 2007, already have two daughters together, Lilly-Ella and Lexi.

 

The news was confirmed by Alex, 28, in a national magazine.

 

She said: “It wasn't planned at all, but me and Steven are over the moon.”

 

Alex, who is now more than three months pregnant, confessed the news had brought her and Liverpool footballer Steven “closer”.

 

Speaking to OK! magazine she said: "It’s great because he’s had loads of time off and we’re both really happy.

 

“He’s being so nice. He took me away to Dubai and got me a very nice present. He's very caring and is looking after me."

 

Discussing how Lilly-Ella, 7, and Lexi, 5, had reacted to the news, she said: "They’re both really excited. They haven't stopped talking about it. They keep saying to me ‘mum, is it still in there?”

That was the gag I was alluding to, and being sarcastic.

 

Of course, I truly believe that any child of Stevie's will fulfil its potential in whatever role in life it chooses and will excel in any of those fields. I believe the child will be as comfortable in a disciplined position, say a senior figure in a bank, or in a more, shall we say, freer thinking,more forward thrusting career.
