It looks like the 532 formation was planned, trained for and put into practice during a week.

Juat need to keep chipping away at the 2 teams infront, they will drop points, especially with CL campaigns ongoing.

What other candidates for the job could be this good.

thank you Kenny :)

(great credit to the players too obviously)

obviously showing that he's been out of the game far too long

Remarkable considering, I honestly though Kenny would be out of tune with the modern game in terms of player power and tactics, but my God he's proven me wrong!

The turnaround is incredible. He's an amazing man and manager but we knew that anyway. We'll win this league next season.

You wouldn't put it past him either.

Fergie for one knows he's a threat to him, the £10m for his corners comment about Charlie Adam proved that.

subbed torres off. drogba had nothing. lampard never really seen. essien negated. cole and bosingwa shut down. alan shearer apparently. i'd walk a million miles.

the game at OT it was very apparent I thought.

imagine, knocking us off our perch and then retiring to watch us climb straight back on it.

leaving Suarez on the bench is final proof, if the team selections up to this point wasn't enough, that Kenny is utterly unbound by footballing conventions. He gives no regard for what might seem like good ideas, what one would expect to see. He analyses what a game needs without any resort to hackneyed old formulas and implements it. There's no expiry date on that kind of tactical mind. He could be out of the game for 30 years and he'd still be a top manager.

Dalglish: The anti-redknapp.

Actually more like the anti-hodgson who has only one way of setting up teams that hasn't changed one iota in 35 years. A man utterly stuffed with worn out tactical clichés

That it's Kenny makes it almost poetic

unfinished business.

remember when he was mooted as replacement when Houllier went? said he'd be on the golf course if they needed him.

people assumed because he didn't talk much about team affairs that he'd lost his edge, out of the game too long etc.

on the contrary, he kept a dignified silence because it was not HIS job, and to talk about how someone else did theirs is not acceptable, now it is his job we see what we were missing.

good times.

Wasnt happy with the system first half. Players looked lost and there was no out ball.

i thought we were the better team in the first half ans should have been 1-0 up

We're in the UEFA cup, so horses for courses.

didn't think the system was going to work with the lack of pace up top, but it was perfect. chelsea had a lot of long shots, we had the better chances

i reckon he is guaranteed to get the job full time after today

he deserves it, he has totally transformed the mentality of the club and players

we expect to win games now where under the hodge we expected to lose every week

well done kenny you are doing an excellent job

marginal

not the same intensity, preparation and absolute need for the '1st 11' to give everything as they will have. Teams can come out of those champions league fixtures drained.

anyway, the point is we need to just keep the pressure on them. One or both can be caught.
