Clearly Suarez and Carroll are going to be our first choice for the next five years. At least, I'm sure that is the plan.

I thought that we may need to sign another good striker this summer to give us more options, cover us for injuries etc, but having seen how Kuyt did up front tonight, I think it is imperitive that he is one of our cadre of strikers. He hasn't lost it at all and looked really impressive. His work rate seemed to be more effective, his passing was good, and even his first touch was uncharacteristically excellent.

It was yet another optimistic sign that we truly are coming back.

Having said that, if Kenny really believes in Ngog, I think he could use a lot more work and so a loan would be in order for him. I'd really like to see us have a crack at one of these young, really promising strikers like Lukaku or Neymar.

It's not I swear Steve. Well not intentionally anyway.

I was really impressed with Kuyt tonight. I thought he was f*cking awesome. He really shook things up up front. I thought he was on his way out and I still don't believe he should play on the right any more.

But up front? Yes please...

think we're going to play in a totally different way under kenny and clarke now, with big differences from the rafa benitez era. think it'll be more directly attacking but the balance to that is that we'll perhaps be less stable and solid than we were under rafa, particularly without the defensive shield we got used to of alonso and mascherano. i expect our forwards to create and have lots of chances under kenny, and we'll probably just be more exciting and fun to watch. can't wait to see us line up with gerrard, suarez, carroll, meireles and maybe maxi all attacking opponents, even dragging the full-backs up with them.

I like Kuyt, but I think he's the type of player who feeds off those around him. If they play well, he will too.

He's had a shocking season so far, but last night's game was a massive improvement, long may it continue.

As regards the other forwards; Shouldn't we be giving Pacheco or maybe even Suso some playing time next season?

Man, when you imagine that, it really is going to be something to see. We are really going to open up defenses. Something that we haven't done in a long time.

Im aboard the Hulk bandwagon

How could anyone not be? Its just a boss bandwagon for so many reasons. Comedy name, quality player who could work in England, would fit in a 3 with Carroll and Suarez.

Whats not to like?

Lukaku is going to cost an absolute fortune, there's no way we should be forking out 30M Euros on back up for big Andy.

The Hulkster would be awesome.

It's going to be interesting to see transfer targets in the summer as I'm still unclear as to how Kenny wants us to set up long term.

Hulk would be great, Hazard would be great. We just need to add someone who adds incredible pace and directness with the ball.

Anyone who gets Hazard is going to be getting a future world class player, hope it's us.

You mean.... let the opposition worry about us rather than us worry so much about the opposition....

reckon there's going to be one hell of a bidding war for hazard in the summer. hopefully commolli can give us an edge.

Kuyt, particulalrly at this stage in his career, should only be considered centrally up front IMO. His legs are too dead to play right midfield now. He's a striker, and always has been.

yet in a 4-2-3-1 it was never about pace, it was about his smartness of movement and how he linked with the rightback. still his best position imo.

i can see the argument that dirk's time as a first team regular is up, but i'd keep him as a squad option simply because i think he offers a lot in terms of the positions he can play and his enthusiasm.

think pressure for places is such an important thing at any football club, and maybe there was something of that in his performance last night.

Any top club should be bidding for Neymar in the summer. It's far beyond promise with him already. Neymar could play anywhere behind Carroll too.

Our new forwards just cost us 1.8m net. With Torres's wages off our books the money must be there for serious investment in the summer.

From what we hear from manager and owners, there should be finances to afford another attacker of his quality and still have ample to strengthen other areas.

If Hazard becomes available then I hope we are in for him, but surely he'll want to play in the CL with Lille next season?

Think he has his eye's set on Arsenal or Madrid.

I'm in the minority I suppose, but I thought Kuyt was average to poor last night. First touch is still awful, and his feet just aren't quick enough to be a striker.
