D.Boon Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Gerrard, Torres, Reina and Kuyt are the only players good enough for a regular start in a team with pretentions of challenging for trophies. The rest of them can f*** off. We have to get away from this myth that this squad is good enough for the top 4. Its weak as f***.
Barnesy_10 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 i'd like to see Meireles actually played where he is meant to play before I write him off
Epic Swindle Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Kuyt would be one of the first players I'd get rid of. I'd like to see a new manager get more out of Babel.
Cam Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Reina... er, that's it on form for the past 15 months.
stressederic Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 (edited) Play to the team's strengths and there are plenty of players in the squad who will do just fine. The squad as a whole has been massively downgraded and de-valued through the machinations of G&H but they're better than we're seeing right now. Edited November 13, 2010 by stressederic
DonRafa Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I've got nothing to say about the players until I see them managed again BY A MANAGER WHO KNOWS WHAT THE FOOK HE'S DOING!! This auld sod is like a Dementor, he's sucking all the class from our players, and all the hope from our fans
carrafan Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 With Konchesky/Carra as fullbacks, Meireles on the right and Kuyt on the left for most of the game, no wonder we struggled.
madaboutlfc Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 the players in our first team apart from Carragher Konchesky and Skrtel have potential but then you wont need an idiot as a manager
Rimbeux Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Kuyt would be one of the first players I'd get rid of. I'd like to see a new manager get more out of Babel. Forget Babel. If I was king, I'd keep Kuyt as an impact player, the sort you bring on with 20 to go to run them ragged across the backline and protect a lead. I'd actually keep most of the 14 from tonight, but half should be on the bench most weeks, and they should end up there over the next 18 months. Doing as we did in 06 and changing most of the players in the squad in a short period will waste more time and money and not move us forward a lot.
Knoxy Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Let's see how they perform under a competent manager before making such calls Apart from CFP and PFK obviously
Toni Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 With Konchesky/Carra as fullbacks, Meireles on the right and Kuyt on the left for most of the game, no wonder we struggled. I agree with this. We need some width and pace injected on our flanks...How the f*** can we attack if none of the midfileders bar Gerrard actually know how to beat a man.
Epic Swindle Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Forget Babel. I can't. There's something in that shrivelled brain of his. Just needs the right man to get it out of him.
carrafan Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Kuyt would be one of the first players I'd get rid of. I'd like to see a new manager get more out of Babel. Weird if you compare their acheivements with Liverpool and elsewhere. Babel is like Hodgson. Completely out of his depth. Kuyt has won us a lot of games and been a part of many goals. That said, Kuyt is absolutely useless with RFH as the manager. Rafa had us playing a game where everyone hassled the opposition and Dirk can do that for 90 minutes and win us possession time and again. Who is not useless under Hodgson btw?
Rimbeux Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I can't. There's something in that shrivelled brain of his. Just needs the right man to get it out of him. there isn't. He's a coward, physically and mentally
Elm0 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Reina. Would rather have the potential fees for Torres, Kuyt and Gerrard to rebuild the team.
Rimbeux Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Reina. Would rather have the potential fees for Torres, Kuyt and Gerrard to rebuild the team. Hell of a punt. You've got players who have affinity and performances under their belt, this can be switched on with the right guidance. Also the best way to build is to change your weak parts, not the better bits.
Benzo-13 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 it's not about the players. It's so obvious it's not now.
D.Boon Posted November 13, 2010 Author Posted November 13, 2010 it's not about the players. Dont get me wrong Hodgson needs f***ing of sharpish, howevr we need masive improvements to the playing staff if we are to mount any kind of challenge in the league.
Stevie H Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Dont get me wrong Hodgson needs f***ing of sharpish, howevr we need masive improvements to the playing staff if we are to mount any kind of challenge in the league.we have a number of top class players. they're being hugely under-used. by a moron.
Frosty Jack Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I can't. There's something in that shrivelled brain of his. Just needs the right man to get it out of him. I think we should get a manager who is prepared to build his team around Babel
Eiler99 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I still think we have a decent squad. The manager is the problem. Release Konchesky and Poulsen. Recall Insua and Aquilani.Get a proper manager in. We'll be back in the top 4 before christmas and we can go out and improve the squad with some proper footballers in january. (yeah, I know it's probably not possible to recall those two so my plan falls apart).
nb Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Main problem with the squad for me is the passing ability from the current back 4. Not since the days of Tanner and Ablett have I seen such heavy feet.
Epic Swindle Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Main problem with the squad for me is the passing ability from the current back 4. Not since the days of Tanner and Ablett have I seen such heavy feet. Just average players. Skrtel, Carra and the greek couldn't pass the parcel. I want to see a dynamic team, full of movement and agrression but we're rely too heavily on a select few players.
