Good performance from Wiley yesterday I thought; controlled the game well which wasn't easy (a derby on a soaking wet pitch) and didn't give in to any silly decisions despite the baying barbarian horde surrounding the pitch.

Best referee in the Premier League by a country mile IMO. Glad to see he is still getting the big games despite Ferguson's ridiculous rant; most of the refs who have been singled out for his ire have vanished into the lower leagues.

I like Clattenburg as well Kev, but I think the opposite to you with him and Wiley. I think Wiley is the consistent, safer option whilst Clattenburg blows hot and cold; he is a very good ref most of the time, but makes the odd poor key decision.

Agree 100%

He's terrific, it's no wonder ferguson doesn't want him anywhere near OT.

1 yellow card wasn't it? Just Heitinga at the end. He had a great view of the Fellaini elbow and must have decided the big belgian plonker just didn't know where he was, which was my take on it too.

I thought he was ok.

Missed a clear peno though. Lucas was clattered in the area by yobo. Nothing near the ball.

And I still think both Fellani and Cahill should have been booked.

The way Cahill got away from leveling Mascherano after 2 minutes was just daft.

I think it is one of those that you have to be at the match to have a view.....they were screaming for everything, he could have turned into a home-er yesterday, he did well to stay calm and balanced

Shame he missed the stonewall penalty and Fellaini's red card but he's the best of an atrocious bunch.

Their penalty shouts for everything are so f***ing embarassing.

That's a fair point.

he could easily have turned out that way.

I do wonder when refs are going to start giving stonewall penos though.

There have been a few this season.

Got to be honest I never thought for a minute until I saw the slow motion replay that was a penalty on Lucas. Easy to say it should have been given with the benefit of that, but in real time it would have been a very, very tough one to spot.

The commentators didn't really say anything about it at all, and there wasn't much of an appeal for a penalty from our players that I saw either so to make a point about him missing that one is pretty harsh.

Fellaini should have been punished for his challenge on Lucas, but I don't think there was intent there. It should have been a yellow for a dangerous challenge, but not the red that action committed deliberately would deserve.

The Evertonians were screaming for the most ridiculous things, but he dealt with the pressure they put on him very well.

Ah, The Goodison Roar.

The North east lot are bad for it but jeez, these take the piss. Its every time the ball goes in the area.

Refs must hate reffing at the s**** pit.

Had a good game. As has been said, he missed Fellani's elbow and the foul on Lucas which was at least worth a shout. But he's clearly the best right now.

The blues****s crowd is astonishing. The constant howling for every last teeny tiny incident is hilarious

They are like angry bees. Goodison has a kind of permanent angry, outraged buzz about it.

the screaming for the disallowed goal (the second one)

Even 30o seconds later they were shouting at the lino

Anyone with even half a brain could see that one was miles off, it was the clearest offside in football history.

Oh hang on a minute...
