ajit Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...and&cc=5901 Probably some truth in this - seeing how he has personally flourished since escaping Rafa's restrictions Player :Jermaine Pennant2009/10 Spanish Primera DivisiónGames Goals Assists 7 0 0
floyd the barber Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 "I don't see how a player can play at an average team and be great and go to Liverpool and be not as great," Pennant told the Guardian wow what a moron.... thats like saying "i was great for leyton orient, then i went to liverpool and i was awful"
SkippyjonJones Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I saw this story and decided it wasn't worth posting it...
Rory Fitzgerald Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 It didn't happen at Liverpool: it must be about how the manager relates to players, how the tactics are and how he restricts players. He's a great manager and there are times when he is a genius Yes, those two are quotes attributed to him in one short article
meepins Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Definitely the next ex-player pundit for Sky Sports.
MFletcher Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 He's quite clearly an idiot, although I could have told you this before we bought him. He doesn't have the right mentality to succeed at a top club.
John am Rhein Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Definitely the next ex-player pundit for Sky Sports. Probably making an early bid for that job
richwilks Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 As I said in another thread. The guy has failed when he's had to step up at every point in his career. He's excelled with s*** teams where he is the star man, as soon as he has any pressure he can't step up to the plate. It's no coincidence that the managers he speaks badly of are Wenger and Benitez.
Billy Dane Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Wonder what his excuse is for his s*** form in Spain?
Sion Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Remember when he was livid at not getting picked for England after a few decent performances for us
Jarg Armani Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Brilliant article, compulsory reading for all LFC fans.
Cam Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Definitely the next ex-player pundit for Sky Sports.Makes Redknapp look like an analytical genius.
Tommy Cockles Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 I think he is "breaking all sorts of shackles" with that article.
Tosh Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 nice to see Jermaine making such an impact against Barcelona
