Philip Degen is Unwell is a play by Keith Waterhouse about real-life footballer Philip Degen who was still alive at the time the play was first performed at Anfield, Liverpool outdoor theatre in 2008.

 

A highlight of the play is an exhibition of sleight of hand involving a football,a glass of water, a matchbox, and Deggen who must remain unbroken at the end of the trick.

Can't Play, Won't Play is an adaption of a play by Dario Fo about real-life footballers Lucas Leiva and Philip Degen who were both still alive at the time the play was first performed at Anfield, Liverpool outdoor theatre in 2008.

 

 

When asked to explain the play, Fo responded, "For those who care to look, the title is the review"

We Will Crock You is a musical by Ben Elton about real life footballer Philipp Degen who was still alive, but badly injured, at the time the play was first performed at Anfield, Liverpool outdoor theatre in 2008.

 

When asked about the content, Elton said "it's a tired sack of s*** that might just fool some people into thinking it's better than it is."
