badtodabone Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 from the offal damn Xabi Alonso will not travel to Upton Park this weekend after failing to recover from bruising caused by a red-card challenge from Newcastle's Joey Barton last Sunday.Rafa Benitez is hoping to have his Spanish midfielder back for the following weekend's clash against West Brom. Meanwhile, Javier Mascherano (twisted ankle) and Fernando Torres (hamstring) are both fit to start against West Ham on Saturday tea-time after recovering from injury. "Xabi is not fit and cannot play," Benitez told Liverpoolfc.tv. "We think maybe in the next week he will be okay. We had an idea that he could be fit for this game but in the end it was impossible. "Javier was training and is in the squad, and so is Fernando."
bazz Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Feck! I hate when he doesn't play - everything usually goes through him. This match was going to be tough anyway, but no we are missing our playmaker - it makes it harder. Not the best news
Mike Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 that f***ing a****** barton. and those d****ead geordies have been saying it wasn't a bad tackle.
RedHarvest Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Balls! ..we should still have enough though. I reckon this game calls for Stevie more withdrawn and Yossi behind Torres.

Jarg Armani Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 we'll never know. why? because he'll never play. why? because he isn't good enough.
Bailo Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Skrtel out, Davies in, Spearing is better than Lucas - WTF has happened here?
sutty Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 The lack of hair on Mike's head means that when the sun comes out, he becomes mental.
Sion Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Skrtel out, Davies in, Spearing is better than Lucas - WTF has happened here? If Spearing was Called Javier Spearo he'd...
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Still three league games this season we've had our spine of Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard and Torres available. Three!!
Knox_Harrington Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) Skrtel out, Davies in, Spearing is better than Lucas - WTF has happened here?Don't you dare place my insight inamongst the Spearing/Lucas nonsense, sunshine. And are we coming to Birmingham on June 13th or not!? Edited May 8, 2009 by Knox_Harrington
Mike Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Lucas is clearly miles better than Spearing. except he isn't spearing will be at liverpool at lot longer than lucas and be a lot more an attribute. you've been trotting that out for ages, when he's only really been the captain of the youth team and now the reserves. you must have been gutted with his cameo against madrid which promised much, jarg youre wrong. sutty you're a rude t***.
Mike Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 i'll make a wager that spearing will do better for lfc than lucas has.
Jarg Armani Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 i'll make a wager that spearing will do better for lfc than lucas has. i'd make a wager that you think spearing has already done better for lfc than lucas has.
Mike Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 i'd make a wager that you think spearing has already done better for lfc than lucas has. ok you're on. £100 and you lost. pay me tonight dumbass.
MFletcher Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) Spearing has no long-term future here. He's not big enough for a start, and he is not sufficiently talented on the ball to make up for his lack of pace/power/strength. He's a decent player, but we need far better than that. He has improved dramatically this season, continues that and who knows.
Hassony Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 He has improved dramatically this season, continues that and who knows. i think he can do a similar job to what Fletcher does at united Lucas is miles better at the moment though
surf Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 i think he can do a similar job to what Fletcher does at unitedconcede penalties and miss cup finals? i'm unconvinced about spearing, think we'd have seen more of him by now if he was going to make it proper
