It was worth giving em that fecin early goal! Made it an even sweeter victory to come from behind.

Showed a lot of character today. And a great substitution. Andy Fecwit Gray was bleating about bringing Torres on, narrr, we have our own supersub. And Torres gets an extra few days to get fit.

Thought we where triffic in the 2nd half. In fact, from about half an hour in onwards we where the better team. End of the 1st half it was telling that it was them giving the ball away and being forced into losing posession.

Loved the way Mascher and Kuyt set up the 2nd goal too.

Nice enough debut for albert as well. And Bennynoun looked so much better. Keane now needs a flukey goal to get going.

Great all over the park. I thought there was only one team in it after 15 minutes. So so glad we got what we deserved today. It's wins like this that could really add that mental strength to the team, plus a big mention for Riera.

They were without Ronaldo

We were without Gerrard and Torres.

It's a huge win for the squad. A natural left sided player improved our balance no end.

Babel needs to have his place found because, good as he is from the bench, he has so much more to offer.

Skrtel won some important challenges at the back, Xabi was excellent, as was Masch after his early error. Riera gave an impressive debut.

It's been too long to feel this good after a game against the Mancs :D

Not sure if this is the place for this, but Andy Gray, once again can't keep his mouth f###ing shut!!

After we scored the first goal his comment: "If you can't be a good manager, be a lucky one"....what a tw#t!

He calls Rafa lucky all the time.

What pissed me off was when he was having a go for Albert and Benny* for not coming in from the wings. make your mind up, are we bad for having no width or having width?

*Albert and Benny, new sitcom for BBC3?

I think he said 'If you can't be good be lucky' or something like that.

I was trying to avoid ranting about him, cos he doesn't deserve it, but fec it - he was really really awful today, even by his standards. He is a horroble little g******* of a man. Why he feels the need to try and discredit people, I don't know.

Anwyay, fec it, he's not worthy enough to spoil that great performance :D

Chilli - that made me laugh as well, going on about players not cutting in enough!

Any United fan who thinks we can win everytime away at Anfield is stupid as well as arrogant. Its not the fact that we lost, its the way that we lost that has done me in.

Liverpool were up for this game and for some reason that i cant work out, our team wasnt.

It honestly seemed like Liverpool had an extra player on the pitch long before Vidic was sent off.

Some United fan phoned up Talksport and complained that the Ref gave us nothing. b******s. The Ref did ok. In fact he could have sent Vidic off with a straight red when he gave a yellow.

We lost today because once again we were not the better team and this time we couldnt pull a late winner out of the bag.

If the scousers played like that every week then they have every chance of a 19th Championship. If!

The fullbacks deserve a mention today, they were superb. Kept things tight and overlapped/attacked extremely well.

Riera was very confident on his debut, like the look of him. Everyone performed well today.

There was a defining moment in the game I think. We'd been the better team from about 25 minutes on, but about ten minutes into the 2nd half, after the Mancs umpteenth clearance into touch in a row, the crowd got significantly louder, stood up almost as one, and the place was roaring - it was like the belief spilled onto the pitch, and from that moment on it seemed the players played like they knew we were going to win.

Brilliant job to the 12th man today.

Fair play mate, nail on the head.

yeah, they both had good games. Didn't take Aurelio and Riera long to get going!

Commentators shut up for about 7-8 minutes. They tried talking over it initially but it was too loud.

Amazing the difference width and alittle guile can make, I thought Riera was outstanding on debut he consistently created space and opportunity for his teamates either beating or drawing the defender. He also came inside a few times and helped out when needed and then worked hard to get back into position to help continue the attack. He also delivered reasonably well from the wide areas actually giving our strikers a chance to attack the net. His contribution was more than I had hoped this early in his Liverpool career and he will only continue to add more to our team as he settles further. If he continues to improve he appears a shrewd investment at what 8 or 9 mil.

Babel was excellent, he nearly had his best game in a LFC shirt today, his runs where constructive, he showed real improvement in his decision making and appears to have maybe not bulked up but hardened up to the point where he can now hold the ball up and create for his teamates as well as himself. Yossi made a good contribution as did Keane and Dirk looked the most dangerous he has in along time and again underlined his status as the hardest working player in the premiership.

All round great game for the squad tho, most people gave us no chance tonight. Xabi and Masch where excellent and controlled the pace for the majority of the game bar maybe the opening 15 or 20 mins when Man U looked like they where going to open us up again. Carra and Skrtel where solid as always winning almost everything that came in their way. While Arbeloa and Aurelio made some good contribution down the wings particularly Aurelio who combined with Riera a few times to good effect.

What a difference a week off can make tho, we have been awful by and large so far this season and have lucked out in the final minutes. Tonight we dominated the balance of play and where finally rewarded. Normally we draw or even lose these games so a big 3 points I beleive. I hope we can continue to improve on tonights performance, it is results like tonights that will help the squads confidence no end. It shows we can play with the best in the world and more than hold our own.

Far play to Rafa as well, I have been critical of his negativity but tonight he showed real intent to win not just not lose. He could have settled back but he chose to turn it up a notch with Babel, Gerrard and N'Gog(before changing to Sami) which indicated his intentions clearly. This is what i wanted to see more than anything. We showed the ambition that Man U have shown us for several years, we said "we're not equally as good as you..we're better and we're gonna keep attacking until we beat you. This shift in mentality is not to be under estimated I hope we can use it as a platform to a really challenege for the title this year....Go City in the Billionaires club match..

You must be one of those very few Manc scum that you can actually talk to without hearing the usual sh!te.

There you go, a compliment and a dig at the same time.

That was like the performance we put in against that lot 2 seasons ago at anfield where they spawned.

Our performance today was much better than 2 years ago. I can't recall Utd being dominated like we dominated them in the second half.
