we play too many games

International dates are set by UEFA/FIFA not FA/Premier League

Other major leagues in Europe wont have started back then

Abolish the League Cup

Just because UEFA/FIFA give an International date, does not mean it has to be taken up.

meanwhile, back in the real World

The English FA have a £750M stadium to pay for, they're paying a manager £7m a year to get the National team to the World Cup and the qualifiers start in September.......

Will we have a CL qualifier that week?

Do we have to pre-qualify, doesn't our uefa ranking as best club in europe mean nothing?

They should just hand us the trophy now.

No, it's usually the following week.

We had to play West Ham in February cos it was cancelled in August last year.

Bad luck to them

A frightening place where night can interrupt day at any time and huge monuments are built to prevent the sky from falling in.

plus the shortfall from lack of merchandise & poor new shirt sales, UEFA money, advertising et all, for not making the Euro2008 Finals...

could well be a more than the average fair few crappy meaningless friendlies this season...

Also bear in mind we will have some players away at the Olympics...

'some players' ?

I thought it was just Mascherano.

Even so, its not good to be without Mascherano and to have to give Gerrard to England. To much disruption to the midfield can't be good at that stage of the season.

Aren't Lucas and Babel going as well ? Olympics finish on the 24th so they will miss one CL Qualifying game and 1 maybe 2 league games. I think we should have the squad depth to cope with that !!!!

Don't forget Barry, he will be off with England as well.

No the Dutch have said if Babel has recovered from his injury they want him to go to the Olympics, think Lucas might be going for Brazil as well.

The FA should foot the bill for wages paid to players injured in the games. It's a nonsense time to have a game. The players will hardly be match fit. Them playing the leagues that haven't started certainly won't be.

Waste of time.

I thought they do now? Remember Redknapp used to get knacked on Int'l duty all the time? Probably cost us 2 years worth of wages

And the olympic football is making me f***ing angry as well.

5 ringed t***s

agreed. The Olympics is duller than crown green bowls. I wouldn't go to watch it if it was held in my building

Players should be made to choose between club and international football.
