Half time : France 0 Spain 1

Bruna is on the bench for Spain.

Keko has scored the goal for Spain and looks a cracking player.

Keko was immense tonight. Pity that Gerardo was on the bench the whole time but the spanish team has a lot of very good strikers.

What about Daniel Pacheco??

Does anyone know if he has been involved with the younger set ups for Spain? I think i read somewhere that Francisco Duran was playing for the U21 and that Miki Roque was not far away from being an international. Then we have San Jose and Antwi so we do have a lot of spanish players.

I thought Bruna was argentian

born in Argentina, moved to Spain at a young age.

opted to play for Spain at youth level.

He can still decide to play for Argentina at U21s or full international level.

I think Pacheco is too old for U17s.

So who of ours has actually played in this tournament then?

just Bruna and he only played in one game and was poor by all accounts

Nah, I'm sure he's younger than Bruna. Could be wrong.

Pacheco is older by 16 days.

Liverpool signed Spanish prodigy Daniel Pacheco in the summer of 2007.

His transfer continued a trend of teenagers leaving Barcelona for the Premier League.

With youngsters in Spain unable to sign professional contracts until the age of 18, starlets such as Cesc Fabregas, Gerard Pique, Francisco Merida and now Pacheco have all been snapped up by English clubs.

The forward is a regular for Liverpool Reserves, scoring on his first start against Bolton and helping them win the league in 2007-08.What he lacks in height he makes up for in skill, weaving his magic between the lines.

Pacheco also represents Spain Under-17s, for whom he bagged a hat-trick against San Marino in October 2007.

Argentine playmaker Gerardo Bruna arrived from Real Madrid's youth ranks in the summer of 2007.

Billed as the Messi of Madrid, the attacking midfielder is currently learning his trade with Gary Ablett's reserves, who he helped to the league title in 2007-08.

Bruna is a left-footer with an eye for goal, particularly from set-pieces.

Pacheco was named in the original squad and was going to miss the reserve game V Villa because of this, then I think he got injured so was replaced in the squad by Bruna, but made a recovery to go on the bench against Villa- and piss all over them in the 15 mins he was on the pitch!!

From what I've seen of him that "Messi of Madrid" tag was just slapped on by lazy journalists because he was born in Argentina. It's still very early days for him, but he hasn't impressed me.
