He's deceptively quick, great little warrior .......... soon he will be better than Hayden Mullins !

Has Pardew EVER explained his reasoning on that one?

I suspect it was off-field financial issues.

I read at the time that MSI/Kia/shady company X believed that Masch was the genuine world class player of the two and had inserted a clause in the West Ham deal that would force them to buy him as soon as he reached a certain number of games/minutes/whatever.

Ahh, sounds sneaky enough to be true

He should have been nowhere near the right back in injury time. Should have left it for Arbeloa to put his foot through it instead of getting involved unnecessarily. Poor clearance too.

Great run to get Terry booked though.

Could have been worse, he could have stooped and tried to head it clear

I like him, yes, great at patrolling the back line and is trying to improve his attacking too. I just think he can be slightly 'headless chicken' at times.

I love his mentalness though, he is loopy.

True, but he's still young

Argentinians do a special kind of bonkers, don't they :D

He doesn't hurt people enough to be proper Argentinian. The real ones damage people. I reckon he's a fake.

If it looks like we're going out at Chelsea I DEMAND that one of our players gets Terry a yellow card. The crying would be hilarious.

Riise - your chance to make amends!

Mascherano is my favourite player by some margin at the moment. Love the little lad.

I can imagine him stood in the tunnel, tweaking the opposition's nipples, standing on their toes, scowling and growling.

He's a horrible, moaning, cynical little b*****d... but he's OUR horrible, moaning, cynical little b*****d!!

I wonder if getting Terry booked next Wednesday would mess his head up for the rest of the game. We definitely need to give it a try.

I reckon it will be a key part of Rafa's tactics - to get Torres to play against Terry. Terry will know that Torres can skin him for pace but will be sh*tting it about getting another yellow.

I thought we'd do that against the mancs and get him up against Vidic

never really happened though

it works both ways of course and they will no doubt try to get drogba to play against carra knowing he is also one yellow away from a suspension.

Totally agree about playing Torres right on John Terry.

I'd back Carra to play his own game and take one for the team if he has to for his part. With Sami and Skrtel available for us, we could cope with losing Carra (although of course it would be a big loss).

Losing Terry would be a far bigger blow to Chelsea, and he hasn't played in one yet so it'll be on his mind more.
