Definite pen, but aside from Babel moving more quickly than Hleb, I don't see that much difference between the Babel one and the Hleb incident from the first leg.

 

Doesn't really matter - we're through and Arsenal are out, but if the 2 decisions had both gone the other way round, there'd be mayhem on here.

You can't have it both ways every Arsenal fan thought it was a pen in the first game (and i thought it was a pen too) todays was a very similar incident and all of a sudden Arsenal fans think its not a pen!

 

Thought Babel actually tried to stay on his feet too, which Hleb clearly didn't, maybe thats what made the difference this time.

he's going to be gutted - his team played well over two legs but blew leads every time they got them - that's what lost them the tie but he's not going to come out and say they bottled it.

 

Arsenal have gone the same way as many teams before them - they just didn't have enough quality over 2 legs

Exactly right. The one in the first leg was a dive, but also a foul. Hleb didn't need to go down like he did but made such a meal of it it looked fake. Babel went down like a man knocked off balance, you can't fake that.

 

Both pens, but arsenal denied by theatrics and justice is once again poetic.
