Reina 6 did'nt have much to do but was sound enough

Carra 6 better centre half than right back

Skrtel 7 solid , like to see him paired with agger

Sami 6 wish he was 27 again :-( , great display

Aurelio 7 nice goal, still prefer a world class left back next year though

Masch 8 officially a liverpool player now , and we are lucky to have him , will be best midfielder in europe in a year or 2

Alonso 7 the xabi of old

Gerrard 8 perhaps did'nt mean the goal but they all count , drove us on

Kuyt 5 sloppy , why does he waste so many good attacks , we should be 10-12 goals better off this season but for kuyt

Babel 9 , clear mom , absolutely destroyed bolton , gonna be a star next season , what a player!

Torres 5 an off day but superstars like him are allowed them every now and again

reina - 6.5 caught off-guard two or three times, but managed a good save to cahill's header and composed when closed down in his own area.

 

carra - 6 filled in as a right back, little to praise or castigate him for

 

sami - 7 solid, he's in good nick lately

 

skrtel - 7.5 good all-round defensive performance, but didn't pick up cohen for their goal

 

aurelio - 6.5 great goal, wasn't that involved in much else

 

masch - 6.5 relatively quiet for much of the game, but came into it later on with his usual efficiency

 

xabi - 7 decent, could've done better with that late run

 

stevie - 8 pushed us forward well, a few things didn't come off, but was involved in most of our attacks

 

babel - 7.5 great finish, threatened several times, but also slipped up once or twice

 

kuyt - 7 some better first touches, ran hard and deserved a goal with that snap shot off the post

 

torres - 5.5 below par, snuffed out of it by a defence which had clearly targetted him as the danger man

 

subs:

 

riise - 6 meh

 

arbeloa - 6 ltoo ittle time to contribute anything of significance.

Reina 7 (did what he needed to do, decent save from Davis)

Carra 7 (swept well and can at least cross with pace. Pennant please note)

Skrtel 7 (physically strong)

Sami 7 (experience showed with his positioning)

Aurelio 5 (was awful apart from the goal)

Masch 8 (exhibition in holding midfield play)

Alonso 6 (average)

Gerrard 8 (MOM. Ran the show)

Kuyt 1 (every move breaks down once he gets the ball)

Babel 8 (pace, power, shooting. Does he have a left foot though?)

Torres 3 (not his day though didn't have much support)

 

Entertainment value: 5 (dull game)

Kuyt 1 - Torres 3?!

Torres had a poor day - but 3?!

 

And Kuyt's effort that hit the post led to a goal - and he won the corner that led to the 3rd and he won the ball which nearly led to another - and he broke up their play all day and was always available.

Baffling. Mascherano was steady but unspectacular by his recent standards. Alonso ran the game in midfield linking up well with Gerrard.
