alias75 Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Paraphrasing but he said he was delighted for Rafa that they got the win, and that Rafa had been the biggest influence on his career. Maybe there have been a few clear the air talks between the players and Rafa?
Maldini Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Gerrard was kind of the opposite I thought, kind of went out of his way to avoid praising the manager.
Paisley Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Gerrard was kind of the opposite I thought, kind of went out of his way to avoid praising the manager. Saw the best and worst of Gerrard tonight. Does he really think he would have a Champions league medal if it wasn't for Rafa?
stressederic Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Gerrard was kind of the opposite I thought, kind of went out of his way to avoid praising the manager. Gerrard's the captain, I think it's sort of expected that he has to do that praise everyone role not individuals role.
Frosty Jack Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Gerrard was kind of the opposite I thought, kind of went out of his way to avoid praising the manager. no moral compass
CaptainXabi Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Saw the best and worst of Gerrard tonight. Does he really think he would have a Champions league medal if it wasn't for Rafa?To be fair Rafa wouldn't have one if it wasn't for Gerrard, so I don't think there's any need to be hard on Stevie.
Mike Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Saw the best and worst of Gerrard tonight. Does he really think he would have a Champions league medal if it wasn't for Rafa???? gerrard said exactly what he should say as the club captain for f***s sake.
Lanus Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Paraphrasing but he said he was delighted for Rafa that they got the win, and that Rafa had been the biggest influence on his career. Maybe there have been a few clear the air talks between the players and Rafa?I was wondering the same thing myself. I think Rafa has gone and done something truelly brilliant , what I don't know but the lads were pretty inspired.
Boca Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Said this in another thread but I can't believe Gerrard is getting grief for this. He said exactly what Rafa would have said if asked the same question. It's not about one man, it's about the entire club.
Tyler Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 mentioned this in another thread carra interview was after he had showered and changed so he had time to collect his thoughts i thought gerrard didn't want to come across as saying we had beaten inter and the job was donesame as rafa really
pipnasty Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 It's that mythic Liverpool Way again (and not the one where we win at any cost) - the tie is only half way through and there is no point in congratulating anybody yet. And that is what both Rafa and Gerrard said last night. Not a problem at all.
Guest Budo Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Gerrard Defo dodged praising Rafa! He's been p****d off with team selection like everybody else.
Hassony Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Gerrard Defo dodged praising Rafa! He's been p****d off with team selection like everybody else. Why is that, he is playing in his prefered position isn't he
Guest Budo Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Why is that, he is playing in his prefered position isn't he Eh? Are you suggesting he doesn't care as long as he's playing where he likes to play?
pipnasty Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 He's been p****d off with team selection like everybody else. How do you know?
Chili Palmer Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Eh? Are you suggesting he doesn't care as long as he's playing where he likes to play? and how do you know he is pissed off at team selection?
Falconhoof Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 When Rafa has been asked to praise Gerrard in the past he's refused to single out individuals. Its the way to approach these interviews and Gerrard was merely doing the same.I'm not convinced that Gerrard is 'happy' under Rafa's management but I don't think that interview was evidence of anything.
Hassony Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Eh? Are you suggesting he doesn't care as long as he's playing where he likes to play? Yes, who plays with him in the team and in what position is up to the manager to decide, and not anyone else
Guest Budo Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 How do you know? Because any Liverpool fan in their right mind who knows anything about football has been.

Rimbeux Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Gerrard Defo dodged praising Rafa! He's been p****d off with team selection like everybody else. And you know this, that he and everybody else feel like that I for one was unaware of telling you my thoughts on the matter
Rimbeux Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Because any Liverpool fan in their right mind who knows anything about football has been. Arrogant nonsense
