it really is as simple as that. yesterdays defeat, in the grand scheme of things, may not be the be all and end all. Arsenal have taken a point from their last 2 games, the Mancs 3 points, and us 3 points.we've all had an unexpected defeat, but bizarrely we have actually made ground on the leaders over the past 2 games.

it all comes down now to how we react. given the choice of a win against either Marseille or the Mnacs, and i'll say the Mancs. we have to go for the league this year, its there for the taking and we have the team to win it.

but its not as simple as pick one of the two to win. Marseille is important beacuse a win gives us confidence. The Manc game is crucial. win it we should be looking at going on another unbeaten run, 3 points behind them with a home game in hand, lose it, and we'll be 9 behind, albeit with a game in hand, it may be too much to claw back. we all talk about big games and title deciders, but this week will define our season, and we need to be up for it. we need two wins, or at the very least, to beat Marseille and not lose to the Mancs.

can someone please change the title, there is a "u" missing in "our" which now makes me look even thicker than normal. ta

I would actually say that two defeats would not be end of the world.

If we were out of Europe and only a few points behind in the league it won't be over.

Although thus forim and others would be hell holes until our next win.

Of course, I want two good victories and Rafa to stop making weird team selections ;)

Beating Marseille could be as important for our Premiership hopes as beating United. I think Rafa needs to beat Marseille for additional funds for January which could then impact our title challenge.

I have to say, its about time we fvckin spanked the Mancs.

Too true. But if it starts and we're playing really well for the first sixty minutes under no pressure you might as well go home and chalk up the 0-1 to them.

I want them to play us off the park and us to rob a scabby five-minutes-left sham of a goal.

I think you are spot on there Wayne. It really is there for the taking. Any one of 4 teams can win the title this year, none of the top 4 are capable of running away with it this season.

Floyd is right, they have been due a good hiding off us for a while now.

I'm content to win it 1-0 with a last minute og from Ronaldo after the worst home display we've ever given with utd hitting the woodwork 9 times

Boro result tonight helps massively. It's pretty tight up there, if we win our (dreaded) game in hand. If we beat the Mancs, and Chelsea/Arsenal result goes our way (either a draw or a Chelsea win), we're right up everyone's a*** again.

Yeah that would be nice, but after last years robbery at Anfield and abject performance at Castle Greyskull, it would be satisfying to turn these fvckers over.

Think it's well time we hammered the Mancs at home..

All in all, thats where Rafa has his worst record for me.

It's dead important to beat them, cos to be fair we all hate them.

The Marseille game on Tuesday will be palpatation city. We need our "A" team and game in that..

it really is a case of any win will do. us to win and a Chelsea win or draw next saturday would leave things wide open

Wouldn't say it would define our season, but it will have a great bearing on it.

Given the choice, I would prefer to beat the Mancs than Marseille and go for the Premiership.

What if that would mean that Rafa gets his cards?

Why supporting a Chelsea win? Chelsea are clearly a stronger squad than Arsenal, who obviously have played a lot better than their real level. A Chelsea win could inspire a lengthy unbeaten run. Rather Arsenal winning that than Chelsea. But a draw would be best.

because it gets us closer to the top. Arsenal are still the team to beat, and until that changes i want them dropping points

Liverpool are a a good team but they do not show the required consistency that wins the league like Man Utd under Ferguson does or Arsenal under Wenger did.

Liverpool usually go a few games scoring a lot of goals with a lot of clean sheets under Benitez. People forget this. Last season, the games before Blackburn and before Reading were like this with the same sentiments like today being bandied about. The run usually ends in Benitez being overconfident and choosing his tactics for that game that show this. Ferguson and Wenger are able to allow the team to adapt psychologically to the added pressures of a long run from the start. Benitez has not learnt this season. Liverpool still have to go to Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford and the Emirates Stadium so the little distance that is calculated after the win against Man Utd will increase as they travel to stadiums in which these teams are undefeated (With Chelsea being undefeated for a couple years in the Premiership) and which Benitez still has not even drawn a game in his history in the Premiership. Chelsea have gone to Anfield and Old Trafford and will go to the Emirates when these points are calculated. Man Utd have gone to Emirates and Arsenal have gone to Anfield . Benitez may not win the premiership but it is quite obvious that he is a top manager and Liverpool would be better off with him.

We're capable of winning both. Hopefully the defeat against Reading won't have affected the lads too much.

Still can't understand why he didn't start with one wide player. A 4-3-3 with 3 centre forwards is something i'd expect to see in the Championship.

If that happened then our new owners need replacing.

Don't know about that, especially with Drogba out for the forseeable future. Fabregas, Hleb, Van Persie and Flamini are all back soon and Arsenal will be back to their best.

Five games in 14 days, that I will be at. One down. I have a good feeling (oddly for me) about Tuesday. Sunday will turn on a few moments. Hopefully ours, not the refs.
