David Villa's agent has hinted that Tottenham are considering a move for the Valencia striker.

The Spanish international is regarded as one of the best forwards in Europe and has constantly been linked with a move away from Valencia.

Spurs boss Juande Ramos is believed to be drawing up a list of targets for January as he looks to reshape his squad at White Hart Lane and he could be in the market for Villa.

Villa's agent Jose Luis Tamargo claims a number of English clubs are tracking the former Real Zaragoza ace and that Valencia would consider any offer from Tottenham

Contacted

"Many clubs have contacted me to ask about the chances of a player who is guaranteed to score goals in England," Tamargo is quoted as saying in the News of the World.

"But I am convinced if Spurs present an offer Valencia will study the subject."

Valencia are likely to resist any move to prise Villa away from La Mestalla, with the 25-year-old the club's prized-asset.

Why?

They have 4 excellent strikers.

Goals aren't their problem.

I'm not sure Villa would do well here either.

Spurs operate in a strange manner.

They're scoring enough goals, have a crap central midfield, a crap defence, and concede more than enough thanks to that plonker in goal.

So how do you fix this problem? You buy another striker in addition to your four very good ones...

Unless Spurs get in the CL there is no chance of him going there.

Even if they were in it they'd have little chance. He (allegedly) turned us down, when we were in a better position that what Spurs would be even with CL, so why would he go there?

Don't think he's worth £12m more than Torres either.

well, the defence could be down to the management. Kaboul, Dawson, King, Bale, Pyo, are not bad players. A decent keeper and that is it. On the other hand, if Berbatov is on his way, and bent doesn't look too great there at the minute, that could be an area they strengthen.

Despite all of that, villa to spurs will only happen once a season unless there is a cup game too.

Dawson is awful

Kaboul isn't much better, made worse by the fact he thinks he's a striker

Bale is a better LM than LB, but still alright

Lee is just crap.
