Racing Santander coach Marcelino accepts they'll have to sell defender Ezequiel Garay at the end of the season.

The Argentine youngster is a target for Real Madrid and Marcelino told AS: "He is an authentic star. He is 21 years old and, despite measuring 1.87 metres, he is a genuine central defender.

 

"He is good with the ball at his feet and has a phenomenal aerial game. He reads the play before anybody else.

 

"I do not have any doubt that next season he will be playing for a big club.

Is there a player in world football you havent suggested buying at some point?

Garay is class alright. That "insider" lad over on RAWK yesterday said we're very interested in Kompany.

Hope so, he's excellent. He's like the player everyone hyped Ledley King up to be.

Ideal replacement for Sami IMO.

Because he really is supposed to be the next really good Argie centre back. He's 21 years old. Sami doesn't have much left in him. Carra will be in a similar spot as Sami right now by 2009-2010.

 

Agger went down it would have been nice to have had Heinze to fill in.

 

Bottom line, we need another CB for the future. The near future.

I'd rather have somebody who's plain solid and a bit good rather than some would be megastar who will have to sit on the bench waiting for injuries. We need good cover, not an expensive replacement yet.
