nvdm Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 before the season had kicked off - 8 games in, Liverpool are in 2nd place, 1 point ahead of United and 6 ahead of Chelsea, would you have taken it?
Coyler Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 before the season had kicked off - 8 games in, Liverpool are in 2nd place, 1 point ahead of United and 6 ahead of Chelsea, would you have taken it?We don't have time for your games, Q.
IgPig Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 (edited) Whats the point then? Edited October 4, 2007 by Post Kuytal Glow
dorgie Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Hence the if, smarta***. Your "if" related to "If I had offered you" so he was right. We aren't 2nd and we aren't ahead of ManU, so all a bit pointless really.
nvdm Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 I really should know better than to post in here after a defeat.

Nathan Explosion Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 before the season had kicked off - 8 games in, Liverpool are in 2nd place, 1 point ahead of United and 6 ahead of Chelsea, would you have taken it? Have you assumed the 'win the game in hand' position in this hypothetical question?
sean Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 So suddenly he'll stop rotating the s***e out of the team and we'll be brilliant? If we continue as we are, being 2nd or 3rd will mean bog all so it's a futile exercise.
The_Adder Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 YES!! But one point out of 6 in the champs league and playing as bad as we are: NO!!
Ronnie Whelan Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 We will still comortably qualify from this CL group. Two wins against Besiktas and all is forgotten.
CaptainXabi Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 We will still comortably qualify from this CL group. Two wins against Besiktas and all is forgotten.I agree with that. From a qualification point of view, things are ok. But the playing standard is bad. Anyway, Marseille are playing Porto twice in the next two games, obviously, which means that no matter how their results turn out, if we beat Betsikas twice, we'll be 2nd in the group by Matchday 4.
_00_deathscar Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 We should beat Besiktas at home, but I'm not so certain Besiktas away will be as foregone a conclusion as some seem to think...
Bootle Buck Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 FFS we couldn't pass, control the ball and find a man in red last night. Surely any of our first team members should be able to acheive that. We didn't look @rsed or motivated to win that game last night. This team potentially should have had the results it has at the beginning of this season. Unfortunately too many performances have been very poor.
drdooom Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 If i had offered you, before the season had kicked off - at the end of the season, Liverpool are in 1st place and crowned champions, United, Chelsea and Everton are relegated.. would you have taken it?
David Hodgson Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 before the season had kicked off - 8 games in, Liverpool are in 2nd place, 1 point ahead of United and 6 ahead of Chelsea, would you have taken it? If you had offered me United failing to win any of their first 3 games and Chelsea losing and dropping points for fun, with Mourinho sacked, I'd have taken it, because any 'ol half reasonable points total would have kept us in contention. If you'd asked me, 8 games in, if we'd be talking about some of the worst Liverpool performances in living memory, and people seriously begining to doubt the manager, and being 4 points behind an Arsenal team that were supposed to be finished, I would not have taken 'it'. We may thank our lucky lucky stars that we are still technically in contention for everything. We have a chance NOW to get out of jail and make this a real season. I suspect that we have very few chances left to get this right, though.

Guest Lennon Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Some of the worst performances in living memory? Slightly hysterical.
nepeter Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 and more our assistant manager has run away. I really think Rafael needs to appoint a new assistant manager to help him out. why not get a former player who can help. Further there are plenty of coaches out there who would suitable additions to help out.
