  1. its the small little things that make a difference. dossena has provided that. please note when there is a forward pass he normally implements them and they are not short safe back passes and long balls kicked up the field with no aim . Risse who played at left back last year did this and this caused us a lot of issues. its important to face forward and pass the ball to midfielders and wingers from left back accurately. this is the job dossena has been brought in for. players that do that are efficient and effective. he is basically a italian fabio aureilo. on another note i worry for pennant. he passes the ball backwards (too safe) too much.
  2. i also feel after babel came on he did try to play more like a winger which riera showed can be done on the left side. i feel we are going to get two strong(er) players because of him joining the club. riera on left, babel on right and interchanging hows that.
  3. players who wear the nike (ronaldinho) need not fear. take not of torres
  4. eto and ronaldinho would be excellent. even either would be perfect. i keep on saying i have a feeling ronaldhinho is coming to liverpool. the prospect of helping us win the premier league the trophy we have not won for a long time is stuff in fairy tales.
  5. i like sammy but not sure if he would be the right person to be assistant manager to rafa (who can help with tactics, play development). if rafa selects the person like the way he did with gary a . i am confident it would be the right person liverpool needs at the right time.
  6. how about ronaldinho would be masterstroke. alonso and riise going and 15 million to barcelona and ronaldhinho coming to liverpool heaven. there is no better motivation then to tell a world superstar you can join a team and help them secure their first title for over 15 years. fairytale . super stuff.
  7. i think gerrard ought to change his number 8 for number 10. these small details have a significant impact
  8. exactly we need a very strong winger. a player that can beat players one on one . like a figo (who we nearly got)
  9. i would not put a unmovable blame on moores. i would like to see how tom hicks approaches moores and tries to get him on his side. once that is in place check mate.
  10. “I didn’t hear Rick Parry say it was offensive when George gave his radio interview [in Canada] telling the world our relationship had become unbearable. When the Klinsmann story broke, I didn’t hear Rick Parry or George Gillett say they were the ones who set up the Klinsmann meeting, that George had known him from Vail [the US ski resort] and that Rick, George and Foster [Gillett’s son] had participated with Tom Jr [Hicks’s son] and me in the meeting. Rick allowed all the controversy to build without taking any responsibility.” “During that time our commercial revenues have not kept up with other top clubs, which has made it difficult to compete for the Premier League. We have not won a league championship under his leadership. His seemingly arrogant attitude to our supporters and his lack of communication with Rafa meant it was time to ask him to resign. I reached my decision a few weeks ago, but waited until after we played important games against Everton and Arsenal. It is important to have a new CEO in place by May so we can begin working with Rafa over player transfers.” "I reached my decision a few weeks ago but waited until after the games against Everton and Arsenal. It is important to try to have a new CEO in place by May so we can begin working with Rafa on player transfers,' “I will request George’s approval to terminate Rick’s contract. If he chooses not to, the record will be clear,” “George will either sell [to Hicks] or be forced to retain Rafa under our agreements for two more years. I want Rafa in charge. As a result, he will have a contract going forward. It’s time for Liverpool to have one strong owner that can give Rafa the support he needs to win trophies, oversee an outstanding management team to grow our commercial revenues and build the best football stadium in the world. I truly believe I can be that owner and under my ownership Ian Ayre, Philip Nash [Liverpool’s financial director] and Rafa would make an outstanding management team. (source: the times) I know everyone has very strong comments against me. I wrote what I felt and I try to think about what is going on. I understand everyone is very emotional. But I got to admit that the letter asking for rick parry to resign ought to have been manged better. I also support and like David Moores. I totally agree with his comments in Liverpool Echo. Its a PR thing and things are being played out in the media.
  11. i personally feel a bit for tom hicks. he is the financial muscle who is trying to improve liverpool. gillet is taking silly positions and his anti hicks behavior now is strange . We all know he is willing to sell to the oil peeps - why because they are wealthy (only). they are not the only wealthy people out there (which tom hicks realizes). tom hicks is putting his neck out there and he is making very gutsy decisions and comments. be fair the media picks up bits and pieces about him but he does deserve our support. the new stadium is all tom hicks idea and through his connections. there is a big difference between a hks designed stadium. he is backing rafa now. think about that. and with gillet . think about why. is it tom hicks fault. what has gillet said read it carefully. i think media picks up bits and pieces and its a pr problem only and its a matter of time tom hicks can put that in place. i am sure if rick parry and tom hicks sit down they would sort it out themselves. i like the guy he is straight to the point and he knows where he wants to go. we ought to be focusing on strengthening the squad, improve the liverpool commercial structure and getting to the new stadium quickly. i am sure this is going to happen tom hicks is going to call a meeting and put his guns on the table and tell everyone focus. the people who want to move in the right direction can stay.
  12. it can get a bit annoying. when gerrard is nearby a player (e.g. risse) they would instinctively pass to him even though a pass to another player would be better. you can watch for this in matches. solution big(er) name players , more confidence, and bringing back the fun and joy into playing for liverpool. certain players might feel disrespectful not passing to him but i am sure he would not if it meant goals.
  13. not sure why the owners do not insist on rafa getting a assistant manager
  14. is it really about the formation. i remember we beat marseille that formation was pretty strong. i believe it has more to do with the motivation of the players now. also it would be a pity we loose this momentum going in the next few games. i would like to see gerrard be more vocal to players and act like our part-time assistant manager. not sure how effective rafa is pumping up others.
  15. this is a very positive sign. actually these small things matter. i really have faith in hicks and gillet. i really would like them to continue and it is better then to have the arabs in who would destroy the culture of liverpool fc. i think that is why moores did not sell to them and prefer to deal with gillet and hicks. at the beginning of many relationship a few bumps come about. if these can be ironed out it would be very positive . if liverpool can be value at 800m now imagine what it would be worth if everything is in order . having full control of the website, having new marketing and strategy in place and new stadium. things look up.
