eskton Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 they all had a bad game, anyone can have a bad game, and it just so happens all had a bad one on the same day except, when are you all gonna open your eyes and see how bad crouch is, he can't run, at best its a gentle jog, he regularly gets beat in the air, as he did after about 80 mins in the right back slop by their 3 foot 2 giant of a right back Just not good enough, like young michael a few years back, f**k off and play for inngerlund you english galoot
Nebraska Red Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 spot on, we had Tommy Smyth telling us all how Crouch has been badly treated by Rafa. the guy looked dead after 10 minutes and flopped around like a fish on a line at times. he has no clue how to beat a player that sticks close to him, he fell to the floor ,when tackled, so many times and he can't have a go at the ref who seemed to be reasonably fair to Crouch, which is odd for a Euro ref. Momo was worse tonight on a much higher level. I saw ball control like his when my 6 yo played last Saturday, his passing was atrocious and his awareness as to his position was non existent. heaven knows how he stayed on the pitch for 90 minutes.
growler Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 not a fan of sissoko, and not sure what he brings, other than a good engine. I was hoping we would have cashed him in for the summer gone and signed up Masch permanently.
Foo Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I only saw the match on a few glimpses between another match on TV yesterday, but every time I saw Momo he missed the ball. Every time.Oh well, the "good" news is that everyone was almost as bad yesterday.
Cunny Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 How can players like Crouch and Momo play themseleves into form, when they only play once every three games?
L19red Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 very annoyed with Crouch last night. At one point the ball was played up to him back to goal 25 yards out and he proceeded to put his head down and dribble away from goal to the halfway line then passed it back to Aurelio. He was almost as bad as momo.
eskton Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 crouch is s***e, and yes how much do we miss Xavi
PhilM Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 crouch is s***e, and yes how much do we miss Xavi Wait, when did we sign him?
Cooldude Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 It's all well and good to have a big engine and run up and down the pitch, but if you give the ball to the opposition whenever you've had it, and dives into every single tackle instead of knowing where to position yourself in front of the back four to plug up the holes, it turns into a brainless performance That was the single worst game he's ever played for us. Please, no more him and Gerrard together in midfield
vish Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 there a bad game, and theres a liability. Rafa should have taken him off.
sean Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Jesus Christ, he was woeful. Never seen a performance like that in my entire life. In saying that we're decidedly ale house at the minute. Get Alonso back soon. We're almost Ged-esque just now.
honourablegeorge Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Was mascheano on the bench? I was PRAYING he'd come on.
nrkintheuk Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 How can players like Crouch and Momo play themseleves into form, when they only play once every three games? If we weren't rotating they wouldn't get a game at all! They play football every day - you can regain form on a training field.
stacka Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 did anyone else notice spells in the second half where sissoko went missing and was practically hiding from the ball. I could see it clear as day when he kept moving himself into positions where the player on the ball wouldn't have the option of passing to him. Think the guys confidence is extremely low and think benitez should be very hesitant about starting him in any high profile match again.
Captain Carrot Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Was mascheano on the bench? I was PRAYING he'd come on.Rafa will say that he used his substitutions to win the game. Unfortunately there is the little matter of also losing it. Sissoko's propensity to run into an opposing player and lose the ball cost us. The team as a unit played as badly as I can remember but Sissoko was probably the biggest liability. Given our recent performances in the Premiership how much of a surprise was this? Is there something not working mentally. Do we have the right people in close coaching contact with the first team? OK, my roundabout point ... is there a Pako dimension to this?
Mike Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 How can players like Crouch and Momo play themseleves into form, when they only play once every three games? has to be taken into consideration
Bailo Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 But also, they know they'll be back in the team within 3 games anyway, so where's the motivation? Babel hasn't featured for 3 games and hasn't played half as bad as either Crouch or Momo this season.
So Cal Red Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 How can players like Crouch and Momo play themseleves into form, when they only play once every three games? fair point... i think thats definitely one of the major disadvantage's of Rafa's rotation ssytem. crouch is s***e, and yes how much do we miss Xavi ahhh! too many possibilities! how are we going to accommodate Alonso, Gerrard, Mascherano, AND Xavi? tough decisions ahead... That was the single worst game he's ever played for us. Please, no more him and Gerrard together in midfield totally agree w/ you there dude. there a bad game, and theres a liability. Rafa should have taken him off. exactly... the burden of responsibility mostly belongs to Rafa... its his job to prepare the players physically & mentally before & after the match... but its also his job to make the necessary changes during the match. But also, they know they'll be back in the team within 3 games anyway, so where's the motivation? ...& the incentive for playing well!
Dee Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 on last night's performance, Momo is NOT fit to wear the shirt he'd better sort himself out No hunger for the ball, gave it away too easily, didn't look interested...not good enough Momo We should have another thread about Crouch too
IgPig Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Momo's been fine as far as I recall apart from last night. Think him and Gerrard just doesn't work. Presumably, Rafa suspected as much which is why its never been seen before (unless I have forgotten) and hopefully won't be again.
Stevie H Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 they're a horrible pairing. neither of them capable of playing keep-ball and slowing a game down.
Dee Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Momo's been fine as far as I recall apart from last night. Think him and Gerrard just doesn't work. Presumably, Rafa suspected as much which is why its never been seen before (unless I have forgotten) and hopefully won't be again.no he hasn't he's been poor - one or two good patches isn't enough. I know he's young but he's a BIG liability. He can't pass or retain the ball. What Rafa sees in him over Masch is baffling
IgPig Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 (edited) Don't think he's been particularly poor up to now, and prior to last night his passing seemed to have improved on last season, when he was poor the majority of the time. Edited October 4, 2007 by Post Kuytal Glow
crisps Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 As i said in a previous thread, Crouch is one of the worst Liverpool players I have ever seen.
