Nasri might be a player to pay particular attention to tonight (if he's playing I haven't heard of any injuries).

 

Ourselves and Arsenal were linked with him in the papers not for the first time this weekend just gone, and Rafa tried to sign the lad when he was a relative unknown as part of the original Cisse deal (before the infamous leg break with France).

 

He seems to be very much on our radar, and does look a real talent in the attacking midfield / forward positions. I suppose you could say he's a Kaka type player in terms of positioning and the kind of threat he poses.

 

He certainly looks to have great ability on the ball and when I've seen the lad play a couple of times, although calling him 'the new Zidane' at this stage of his career is ridiculous.

 

Will be watching him closely tonight to try to form a better picture, as Nasri definitely seems to be a potential target. If he plays well in the CL this year though I fear his already high value from good performances with the French national team may skyrocket.

Good in that he's probably their best player and biggest threat, but sorry to hear he's ill and it's a bit of a shame not to see how he shapes up against a very solid defence.

Xavier Rivoire wrote a little piece in the Racing Post about the Champions League this week. He basically made out that Nasri hasn't trained on as was expected and the miss isn't as big as people seem to think. Then again, he also tipped Lyon to win last night. So what does he know?
