playing their first 'home' game tomorrow night vs Sunderland (at the Warrington Wolves stadium).

Anyone going? I'd expect a half decent crowd for this, mor local for Liverpool and a strong set of local support in and around Warrington. I'd guess it'd be likely to attract more fans than the seasons at Chester and Wrexham.

Watching the game now on .tv. Quite boring so far, a lot of hoofing from us I must say. San Jose looks like a good player, as does Plessis and of course Insua. Lots of affort from Putterill, but he seems to be a bit weak tactically yet. I'll be very surprised if I ever see Brouwer or Linfield play in Premier League though.... Not very impressive.

Hoofing or long accurate passing?

There is a difference.

There is and if I meant long accurate passing I would have written so I think..

Almost 24 hours have gone by, and no one has asked "why"?

That'll be because we all know.

It;s a secret and no-one is telling you.

Wasn't a bad game. A fiver for an adult and £2 for kids. Free if your lucky enough to have a season ticket, not sure if PTS counts. Given the size of crowd for the first one I think it's going to be a popular venue for the reserves, good for them to play in front of a reasonable crowd and even better for the LFC.tv cameras trained on a full stand. The size of the crowd (3400) took the Wolves staff by surprise and kickoff was delayed by 15 minutes. The seated side stand was filled and the Martin Dawes stand opened to take the spillover. It was a pity the terrace stands weren't available as I'd sooner have stood. There was also an annoying 'no alcohol' within sight of pitch rule although as I was driving it was academic.

Obviously a good opportunity for parents to treat their kids. Was a family crowd and so language had to be restrained. Decent game though and Liverpool were unfortunate not to get a draw. At times we played some nice stuff. There's no experience in our side, we won't be winning the reserve team league but at least every player there is looking to the future and hoping to make it. Sunderland had some more recognisable names, Connolly, Musampa and Ian Harte making a return to English football. Greg Halford was another who played in the top flight.

I was impressed by Plessis, quite a classy midfielder with good awareness. Both San Jose and Huth performed well against some decent Sunderland movement up front. The Sunderland rightback also looks one for the future. Putterill might've struggled but a lot of credit has to go to the defender. I didn't catch his name but he looked useful and worth keeping an eye on.

Spearing is a good player but he's so small, if he doesn't grow a bit is it sensible to talk of him as a cb? I'm hoping he's still got a bit of growing to do because he's talented and determined enough. Plessis has the advatage of height and if he fills out a bit and progresses he looks the part.

RESERVES SLUMP TO NARROW DEFEAT

Paul Hassall at The Halliwell Jones Stadium 02 October 2007

The Reserves suffered their first league defeat of the season despite matching an experienced Sunderland side in an entertaining contest at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Gary Ablett's men dominated for long spells throughout the match but were left to rue a series of missed opportunities as a first-half strike from Roy O'Donovan ensured the visitors left with all three points.

A lively opening saw the Reds take charge with Ray Putterill curling an effort just over the bar on five minutes before Jordy Brouwer was harshly robbed of what would have been his third goal in two league games.

The Dutch starlet rose well to head home Stephen Darby's cross from the right on 18 minutes but his celebrations were cut short by the sight of the Assistant Referee's flag.

The Reds continued to take the game to their more experienced opponents and were unlucky not to be rewarded for some fine approach play by the likes of Brouwer and Craig Lindfield.

The visitors had been restricted to just a handful of set pieces but on 33 minutes they swept forward and took the lead against the run of play.

A through ball by former Man City midfielder Kiki Musampa found Anthony Stokes and as the Reds defence closed him down the ball broke to Roy O'Donovan who rounded David Martin before firing the ball in from a tight angle.

The goal seemed to boost the away side and they could and should have doubled their advantage but Stokes headed over when well placed while David Connolly was brilliantly denied by Martin.

The second period began in the similar fashion with Connolly again finding space in the box but once more he was denied by the agility of the Liverpool keeper.

The save seemed to spur Ablett's side on and they went on to dominate the remainder of the match.

Emiliano Insua was unlucky to see his 30-yard thunderbolt crash against the underside of the crossbar on 61 minutes before Jay Spearing saw his close range effort superbly blocked by Trevor Carson after some good approach play by Lindifeld.

The Reds continued to push in the latter stages and Brouwer could have salvaged a point with ten minutes remaining but he headed over with the goal at his mercy.

Teams: Liverpool Reserves: Martin, Darby, Insua, San Jose, Huth, Spearing, Flynn (Threlfall 82), Plessis, Lindfield (Pourie 83), Brouwer, Putterill (Crowther 69)

Sunderland Reserves: Carson, Halford, Harte, Hartley, Donoghue, Chandler (Dennehy), O'Donovan (Weir), Musampa, Stokes, Connolly, Murphy (Richardson)

Referee: Mr M Haywood

Attendance: 3,403

Liverpoolfc.tv Man of the Match: Jay Spearing: A solid display by the youngster who more than matched Kiki Musampa in the middle of the park.

Did anyone else try and tape this via Sky+

The LFC schedules on the sky TV guide seem to be all wrong. They has this down as starting 50 minutes before the match kicked off, then it stop recording after 75 minutes.

They need to sort that out - I've taped a few things now on the channel where its not taped properly.

Still would have stopped dead on 90 minutes then which isn't right. Happens with other stuff on LFC tv too - missed the end of the shankly documentary. I think the programs start at roughly the right times, but the TV guide times are wrong.

Seems to be a problem at most Setanta channels.. The tv/Sky guides are all over the shop.

I got up to see Bundesliga highlights and there was Women's World Cup highlights instead..

Gotta get it together.

Anyone tried using the e-season for watching LFCTV?

What's the quality like? Is it reliable? I only got Setanta for the club channel & TBH, it's hardly been worth the £10 considering the programs are all over the shop. I wouldn't mind so much if the money was going straight to the club, and of course, it's cheaper.
