deacon Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I've only seen his appearances against Villa and Chelsea, but I think he is going to be an absolute star for us. His cross for the Riise chance was lovely and he looks like he'll be quite direct, which is what we need sometimes. Another great attacking option for Rafa to have.
Coyler Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 He's as sleek as bedamned as well. No other player in the league moves like him. Really thought that shot went in at the near post, too.
Guest Disintegration Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 (edited) His willingness to bang a shot at goal out from nowhere could prove the difference when we're playing against a team with 10 men behind the ball. I expect we'll get such a test at Sunderland. Edited August 20, 2007 by Disintegration
Guest RedIsMyColour Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I think once he settles he'll be a star, still a bit greedy at the moment (eager to impress) but he doesn't half hit the ball, can see him busting a few nets.
CarraLegend Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Think he'll be inconsistent for a while, no surprise given his age but eventually will be a top player for us. Got a lot of talent and love how direct he is. For the first season or so though I expect some great games and some none existent.
Mike Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 don't think he's got it in him to start yet. he's looked good off the bench but not when he's started. learning curve - id like to see him getting 2nd half appearances for the next month before he starts.
Cunny Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I reckon he'll start against sunderland, especially if Gerrard needs the extra rest.
Stevie H Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 think he'll be eased in to be honest, don't see him starting a league match for a while yet.
sean Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Still have nightmares about the last time we played Sunderland when we had 4 million shots on goal and a freak show by their keeper. They'll be hurting too.

_00_deathscar Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 That was twice wasn't it - Jurgen Macho both times. Whatever happened to him?

lawrie Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Like the look of him a lot, So far he seems much more comfortable on the left

sean Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 And a win this week will finally bury the notion we're slow starters and are poor on the road. We should actually get with the mindset that we're ahead of UTD on points dropped and try and stay there. Feels good not to be thinking we need to go on a serious run, where the pressure was on to do it. I think we can compete with them this year.

Obviously everygame is a tough one but we could serious put the s***s up Chelsea and ManU if we do well in those games.
Bootle Buck Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 He can certainly shoot with tremendous power. He hardly took a back swing on that effort yesterday.
_00_deathscar Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 He can certainly shoot with tremendous power. He hardly took a back swing on that effort yesterday. That's his incorrect technique you see...
stressederic Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 That's his incorrect technique you see... Don't worry. We can rebuild him, we have the technology.
sean Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Training gives us more possibilities. It's unbelievable, just unbelievable.
