I'm just going on heresay here because I didn't see yesterdays game. I know it is only one game also.

But, Voronin seemed to have played a blinder. I pretty much didn't think he'd make much of an impact this year. Whenever I'd seen him play before he looked decidedly average. But, he was good value for no transfer fee.

What did Rafa see in him that pretty much nobody else saw? Could he be the surprise of the season?

Questions, questions, questions...

I'll ask Rafa and get back to ya.

Ta...

It's not jsut Vornonin though. Momo is in that category too. And Agger. And Garcia.

He's had a few f*ck ups too, granted. But generally his judgement is superb.

He had Momo at Valencia. Agger was highly regarded and very well known for a youngster. Garcia he had at Tenerife.

Garcia was playing for Barcelona, we hijacked the Momo deal from Everton and Agger cost us the Danish record.

Hardly unknowns.

And arguably the most highly rated youngster as Rafa saw it was Mark Gonzalez.

So you're claiming that Rafa makes some good signings and some that are not so good.

That's a level of insight one can't get on just any old forum, you know.

I think that Rafa has a liking for hard working players - just looking at our front 4 now - Torres is known for his workrate, Kuyt and Crouch seem to cover most of the pitch in 90 mins and the Raven based on what I seen last night was always on the go and looking to make opportunities - his goals really show that he's alert and has a footballing brain. Even that little dink into the box to Hobbs was sublime - Hobbs fvcked it up though.

I much prefer The Crow.

Rafa sees coaching reports, videos and occasionally players playing live that we don't see.

So yes.

That's a myth. He just logs on here and then proceeds to YouTube to view the clips if lots of people rate the player.

Don't make fun of my schizophrenia. It's a medical condition you know.

Actually, even the bad ones may be a result of him seeing things that nobody else does.

After the problems when we first tried to sign him, I suspect Rafa had to hype him up to ensure he got his work permit - getting his name in the papers and attention to the way he was playing in Spain in order to argue the exceptional talent category.
