Liverpooltj Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I have been floating around the boards the past few days hopeing that somthing would happen with regards to transfers but so far noting major. Now looking on Slysports i see that the scum have said they are signing Anderson from Porto and nani from Sporting Lisbon along with Owen hargreeves. I mean its not hard to rebuild us, but United have put quality above quantity while we have done the reverse. Instead of buying five 4million pound signings we should buy two 10million pound players...again its quality not quantity and thats what we must learn from. Could it be time for a new Chief Exec at our club as it sounds like parry is more interested in going on his hols rather than getting on the blower to george and tom and getting everything sorted out. I know its only early in the window but surely we cannot afford to loose more ground on united. I'm not one for rumours and don't really pay much attention to it but after the past few months i have been really excited about what the summer will bring and i really hope that the new board will pull the finger out of parrys tight a*** and get us back up there cos if we don't and rafa walks it will be a real blow and will set this club back another ten years. I really feel that for the first time in years that we are on the verge of somthing special, however if nothing happens this summer we will be going for fourth or 3rd again next year and possibly with another manager in charge. I know Foster Gillette is coming over in August but by then i'm sure it will too late to get our main targets as they will be snapped up by other clubs. don't get me wrong this is no rant as i am just asking a few questions. I do think we will have to spend a goos £20 to £25 million pounds on a world class striker as Chelsea have Drogba, united have Rooney and Arsenal have Henry all of which are worth or have been worth £20 to £25 million. Tevez or Eto'o would be superb. It's a shame that we missed out on Ronaldo even though he is a dirty diving can't theres no doubt he was the main reason united won the prem this year. In the year we paid £10 million for diouf united paid £12 for ronaldo. Oh well roll on the summer which best not be a disappointment. YNWA
Bailo Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 (edited) It's May. Man U are the only club to have agreed big deals in principle. Relax or you won't make it to next season! Edited May 30, 2007 by SuperDunce
Rahul Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 They've been really really fast. And they've also had a few more days since the end of their season than we have if you want to get particular.
Magic8Ball Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 the ronaldo thing still upsets me - we had him for 6m took too long and he went for 12m to the mancs there is clearly something wrong with our approach, time was the first you heard of our targets they were holding a scarf above their heads saying that they always supported liverpool
Guest Snorky Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Rafa is on holiday at the moment, will not be back until next week sometime. I'm positive though Rick Parry is working like a hamster in a wheel behind the scenes.
Barnesy_10 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 thing is the names being banded round we are interested in aren't getting me excited... so go knows what we end up with
Guest Snorky Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 The transfer window is not yet open When has that stopped the wheeling and dealing ? Transfer Window Smindow.
Guest paisley81 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 why does parry always get the blame? it's not his money.
Liverpooltj Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 Its time to stand up and bitch slap those manc t***s back to where they belong. Makes me wonder that if souness had not been put in charge and kenney would of stayed there is no way in this world Whiskey Nose would of dominated the Prem in the 90's why does parry always get the blame? it's not his money. yes but the man is the go between the staff and the bosses
Senrab_nhoj Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 time was the first you heard of our targets they were holding a scarf above their heads saying that they always supported liverpool Pre internet perhaps?
Guest Snorky Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 why does parry always get the blame? Because for every deal he makes, he f***s up two.
Gilps Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Must admit it's taken a good 6 days longer than I thought it would for someone to say this.
Guest JV Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 correct the ronaldo thing still upsets me - we had him for 6m took too long and he went for 12m to the mancsThought they just offered more.
Spike Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I'm positive though Rick Parry is working like a hamster in a wheel behind the scenes. in which case I hope he gets his f***ing hair caught in it. correctThought they just offered more. Having read thommo's book how they stole a march on that deal sounds well dodgy
Mike Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 bought time we started getting f***ing dodgy then.get the deal.
Mr Makaveli Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 thing is the names being banded round we are interested in aren't getting me excited... so go knows what we end up with i worry that we'll fail in our signing this term if we dont get our business done quickly.
Eiler99 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 (edited) My calendar says may 30. Has the original post travelled back in time? Edited May 30, 2007 by Eiler99
RafaShanks Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 My calendar says may 30. Funnily enough, the same as my calendar. We're doomed!!!
Gilps Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 (edited) Spanish season's got a couple of weeks left to run yet too, hasn't it? Sign Eto'o now, f*** Barca's run in Edited May 30, 2007 by Gilps
Guest paisley81 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 we got the highly sought after lucas in with relative ease and no fuss.
Barnesy_10 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 My calendar says may 30. Has this post travelled back in time from august? Why wait till August? thats my point..... The season starts in August.. we can't afford to go into the season as a team that is learning to gel together. The types of player I see us going for would be massive strengthening players, wingers, full backs that could change the entire shape of the side.... Making such changes won't be a quick and easy fix and expect results straight away... Rafa needs to get these players in ASAP. I remember after the first game of last season when I was fuming about the 1-1 draw at Sheff Utd and some people on here were like... 'still another 30 odd games left to go, stop worrying'... The Mancs will be stronger, we need to stay on them right the way through... Feel like I am stating the obvious here, and I hope I get proved wrong... but personally I am dreading us having a pissed off Rafa and having dropped points by the end of August and Champs League qualifiers to contend with as well as missing out on players as we held back in the window. Maybe Rafa has tied up some deals and they will be announced when he gets back off holiday, if so then I will eat my fuzzy Athens hat..
Guest Linton Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Nani AND Anderson? Is that true? Astute signings from the scum if that's true.
