Markus Babbel - Another Legend can go out in style

With Stuttgart in first place it would be nice to see Markus Babbel get another winners medal before he retires at the end of this season. It was such a pity his career at Liverpool was cut so short. He was superb in the treble winning season. Good Luck Markus.

steve nicol was football writers player of the year in 1989. you've got to be pretty damn special as a full back to get that.

chris lawler scored over 40 goals for us as a full back, thats pretty damn special too.

phil neal - the most decorated player in english football history.

Agree with you, that 1 season he was with us, man he was brilliant. I dont know if that is enough to make him our best rb ever, but certainly one of the best over the past 10-15yrs.

He just proved furing that season that he was one of the better backs in Europe as he had proved for Bayern München the years before. An Excellent player.

As I said in the Schalke thread, he has played 97 minutes this season and none since his 7 minutes in game 5, so no medal unless they have strange rules.

 

VfB haven't won it yet, so no mockers please. Armin Veh is some manager/coach though.
