Ronaldinho Is Lazy

I went to watch the Barca v Deportivo match the other night and kept a careful watch on Ronaldinho. I already knew what sort of player he was but the fact that he is such a lazy player really stood out the other night. He just stands there just inside the oppositions half on the wing and waits for the ball. One time play moved up and down the pitch 3 times and he did not move off the spot. When the ball does come to him, instead of making room for himself and the pass he runs up to his marker and tries some sort of flick to get past him. Most times it does not come off, but when it does the crowd love it. On a normal day I would say he make 4-5 decent flicks/moves and that is what the crowd pay to see, but the rest of the time he is just a passenger.

I know he is not having his best season, but he has always been lazy. Yet, I have seen many people say that he should get the world player of the year.

The official attendance was 64k but I think that was tickets sold, not people through the turnstiles. The ground was very much empty, I suspect this was because they changed the kick off date from Sunday to Saturday only last week. I know of others who were flying over on Sunday morning for the game and so missed out (No refund either). The atmosphere was nothing special either.

Walking home afterwards we passed several groups of English singing 10 German Bombers etc. Why?

I am not writing this so I can say Ronaldo should get player of the year, I know he has been much better than Ronaldinho this season, just want your views on him. He does not look fat as a picture on the net recently showed.

Ronaldinho is a genius....

I dont dispute that at all. I love watching the guy do his stuff, but he does not track back, in fact if he has not got the ball he doesnt do a whole lot of anything

Groups of English lads on a stag do in a foreign city acting like t***s? Who would've thunk it?

I talked to a few in the ground and it seems a lot stayed over from the England match in midweek.

I can't think of many Brazilian footballers who run about for 90 minutes. It's a very (northern) European way of playing football.

The point is to wait till you get the ball then do your Samba thing.

Adriano is the same.

I was at a Barca match in the early 90's - it was the same then.

Romario and Stoichkov barely broke a sweat until they got the ball or it was in the oppositions half.

It's tolerated though, they don't want their start forwards breaking the balls to help the defence. Just different footballing cultures and views on the game.

because they're c*cks.

Like you.

Do you say this to everyone? Is it your chat up line? Or is it just because I am a Man Utd fan?

Excellent input btw. You must be very proud. Maybe you expected all your buddies to come in with

Etoo does track back and so does Messi. In fact when one or the other did they swapped positions for several minutes. That was good to watch.

you dont have to be a hardworker to be a great footballer, which he is.if all the players were hardworkers and none were "flair" players,i wouldnt have loved this game so much.

I went to watch the Barca v Deportivo match the other night and kept a careful watch on Ronaldinho. I already knew what sort of player he was but the fact that he is such a class player really stood out the other night. When the ball does come to him, instead of making room for himself and the pass he runs up to his marker so that when he does recieve it and he tries some sort of flick to get past him it looks so skillfull. Most times it does not come off, but when it does the crowd love it. I know he is not having his best season, but he has always been class.

Walking home afterwards we passed several groups of English singing 10 German Bombers etc, they were just having a good time. It was fun to see and be part of.

No I was not, but the reaction I got for the first draft was the reaction I would expect for the second draft. Oh well, obviously its just me that brings the best out in our members.
