The moment I saw Gerrard off Crouch with Pennant and Gonzalez wide and Alonso and Masch in the middle, I thought that Rafa might use this system though with different personnel (Finnan, Riise, Kuyt).

 

Not so sure now. I still think it may be 4-4-2 though.

Same here, but perhaps with Finnan and Riise coming in. I'm not all that fussed whether Gerrard plays in the middle in general, but playing Pennant gives us a much better shape and we're much more of a threat going forward with him out wide. Also think that after the Arsenal win, Mascherano and Alonso should start, so to have all of the above play, Saturday's 4-4-1-1 formation is the only real option...

No No thats it my final team, strong solid with goals in it, Gerrard, Kuyt, Riise & Crouch all have goals in them.

 

Maybe you could call it a 442 with Kuyt told to drop off a little to help midfield out with Riise and Gerrard told push on as usual.

Kuyt will definitely play, he's dutch, for this reason i'm fearful he might play zenden on the left. Hoping he goes for this, tough on crouch but he's a great possibility from the bench
