Just noticed in the December issue of the OLSC magazine that it says this:

"Please note that all PTS members are subject to a random seat/ticket check inside or outside the stadium on match days during this current season. This means that the Club may select you and check that the name and the LFC Fan Card number on the ticket matches the person in attendance. If you pass your ticket on or sell it, you are at risk from being excluded from the PTS. Your LFC Fan Card may be withdrawn and deactivated, which will prevent you from purchasing a ticket for future games."

Is this just bluster, or has anyone actually experienced this?

Kahnee don't say a word about.....cough...... ahem our arrangement regarding the PTS!

It's OK Jonesy, you and Kahnee are like twins to the untrained eye. You're both a right pair of ................

I can understand the reasoning behind it, but I imagine there are a lot of legitmate cases of people not being able to go and passing it on.

There are, it's the same for season tickets and match day tickets. We've all been in that situation before. The club are really trying to get rid of ways that touts get hold of tickets, it's a long process and there will be mistakes on the way and innocent people involved. At least the club are open to fans with genuine reasons and are prepared to listen.

In the long run though, the aim is no black market tickets available, surely that's a good thing ?

Yeah, without doubt. I imagine the long term aim is that only fancards get in, if you can't go you just cancel it and it can be sold to someone else.

Also, the plan is to get rid of match tickets completely, but it's going to take a while.

They won't get it done in this stadium will they? It'd make more sense to do it in one fell swoop with the move I would have thought.

Next Season all Season Ticket holders will have a fan card, and when you tick that box for Cup tickets your fan card will be updated instead of getting a ticket in the post.................that's the plan anyway.

How much time do you have ?

At the moment we have just over 24,000 fan cards, not all season ticket holders.

How can they do this? They'd also need you to provide alternative ID, wouldn't they?

what if a member is ill or caught up at work, the obvious thing to do is pass it on to a mate for face value.this must happen all the time

My season ticket is paid for and used by a mate, who is 10,000 miles neared Anfield than me. All corespondance goes to him in my name. Hopefully he wont have to sign anything to get fan card.

The club are happy for this arrangement thankfully.

Why can't you just have more than one person named on your fan card or season ticket, in the same way that people have shared credit cards?

That way, if you can't go you can legitimately pass it on to the other person (or persons - why not allow three or four or more?) without running the risk of being accused of touting.

There must be loads of people who share season tickets or fan cards who could benefit from this.

Good idea, why don't you email the club about this.

There are some people that buy up games on their fancards, knowing they're acrueing loyalty points, then just sell on the tickets (face value, mind) for the games they don't want to go to. Seems unfair that loyalty is based on ticket sales, should be based on games actually attended.
