England w***athon aside quite an interesting read.

Seems a bit insecure like. You tend to project onto footballers, assuming a level of arrogance and self confidence that obviously isn't there. A good explanation for why he absolutely stunk around the time when we got knocked out against Basle as well.

Interesting contrast between his and Fowler's book as well. Especiallyregarding the view of Tommo and GH :mischief:

Haven't read it. What had he to say about Gerrard and Thommo? Robbie's constant moaning and whinging about them (and how he was 'really just a poor Scouser, honest') really turned me off his book.

That GH was a real father figure, nurturing etc etc.

The opposite of what Fowler says, basically.

i couldn't finish it, i was that bored

was a disappointing read.

i object to lads in their 20's writing autobiographies anyway, they dont have enough life experience or stories to fill a book

J.barne's book is a great read. oddly, owens book is also a decent read.

1st half of the book wasn't great. 2nd half was far more interesting

I agree - wait until the career is over then you may have a story. Kennys is good as is Hansens, Tony Adams is also very good and honest also.

Kenny's is heroically dull.

No matter how dull it is, it's a rollercoaster blockbuster when compared to Sami's. Sweet Jesus, it would put a hyper kid with ADD on intreveinous Red Bull into a coma.

I see Colleen has just brought one out...a must read if ever there was one!

no, its not an autobiography. Its just the story of her life for the past for years. I repeat, it is not an autobiography. She has been very vocal on the matter!

From the Guardian about Colleen's book: -

Reader, meet author

Authors know that it pays to be nice to your publisher but the lovely Coleen McLoughlin, girlfriend of Wayne Rooney (and described by this very newspaper, according to Amazon.com, as "the leading style icon for young British women today"), raised the bar during an appearance to promote her new autobiography on GMTV the other day. Asked how it had come about, she began her reply: "HarperCollins, who wrote the book - they wrote Wayne's, as well..."

Barnes' was annoying because I ended up disliking him.

Agree with that. Same thing happened with Gerrard.

What a thick tart. It offends me to see people like her all over the papers and media all the time.

I saw some dippy tart reading the Jorden book on the train the other day and felt like slapping her.

WHAT THE f*** COULD BE EVEN MILDLY INTERESTING ABOUT SOMEONE LIKE HER.

She doesn't even have the courtesy to be good looking.

Apparently Paul McGraths book is a cracking page turner

looking forward to reading

I read it over xmas. Don't usually read footballers bios but it was in the gaff. Interesting indeed. Graham Taylor came accross as a really top bloke in it actually and someone who I have alot more time for now. He's just a decent bloke who went well out of his way to keep his players out of the media and try and help them when needed.

Also how anyone could play after drinking a couple of bottles of vodka is beyond me. Very sad indeed.
