I wonder how far we're going up this list, once we secure investment....? 12th. ain't exactly impressive is it?

Besides that I'm quite impressed with how many German teams have secured really massive shirt sponsor deals...

Think i read somewhere about us getting a really big sponsorship deal when Carlsberg deal expires.

The 'impressive ones' as you call them, are almost all recent - ie. last summer or thereabouts. Ours was an 'impressive one' at the time it was originally signed several years ago (it was continued after the CL final as talks elsewhere didn't work out). For such a deal to be still on the list at all and higher than Ajax, Inter and those sons of fun at the Toon I would say was still impressive. the new one when it comes will be something bigger and better all over again.

Roma, although a 'big' club has had its share of financial problems in recent years which are well documented, and they suffer in the shadow both in terms of sponsorship and success to AC Milan and Juventus in particular. They have to fight it out with neighbours Nazio, Inter Milan, parma, Fiorentina - not easy when they have not been all that succesful in recent times.

Interesting not to see Arsenal up there, probably as they have a sponsorship package with Emirates, including at least the Stadium name & shirt sponsoring.

I wonder to what extent the values listed are the true values of the Shirt Sponsor per se, as different clubs might have different deals incorporating different products i.e. more or less corporate boxes, match day advertising etc.

Also - as in our case, some deals will come with bonuses for winning trophies, league position, CL qualification etc - if this list is just raw numbers, it's misleading anyway.

I'd say it's time we jumped to the top of that list. It's about time Microsoft, Google or Apple got into the footy business.

If the mighty Spurs (ahhhh 1961) can get to No.6, that shouldn't be a problem

Isn't the german league the one with most attendance in average? I think I've read that somewhere.

I would guess so as a lot of clubs allow standing and offer low ticket prices. I know Dortmund let fans in for around ?10 and when parts are converted for standing they can hold about 80k

Arsenal's is worth £6.8m a year once separated from the naming deal for the stadium (55m over 8 years).

Really like what Barca are doing.

Would be great if the deal goes through and we didn't need the money if we decided to do something like that.

Can't see it TBH if they are looking at running it as a profitable business, but it would generate a lot more positive publicity than a big money deal with some multi-national would.

Massive attendances in the Bundesliga. You can get into the ends for EUR 10 at most top division games.

It's almost impossible to get my hands on Schalke tickets, even for the silliest friendly. They pack in 65K for Bundesliga games (standing) and about 45K for European and international games.

They've also just signed a new shirt sponsorship deal with Gazprom. For EUR 25m/year.

That's more than the Glams' deal is worth.
