Arturo Lupoli has claimed Liverpool are monitoring his progress but the Arsenal starlet believes it is more likely he will quit England for a return to Italy in the summer.

The Italy Under 21 international has a contract at Emirates Stadium that expires in June but as yet, the club have yet to engage in talks with regards an extension.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is known to be an admirer of the diminutive forward, who has spent this season on loan at Derby, but Lupoli admits he is seeking assurances before he makes any kind of commitment.

Willing to accept that at present there is no room for him at Arsenal, Lupoli is weighing up a return to his homeland, whilst at the same time confident there is interest in his services from both England and Spain.

"The contract with Arsenal expires in June and there isn't an agreement for the renewal," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"To remain I want guarantees, and I'm not referring to financial matters.

"I've accepted the loan to Derby because I know there is not space at Arsenal.

"Should it be up to me at this point, I'd like to come back to Italy. In England I've had two important years, it's been really constructive.

"Offers? Valencia and Liverpool have followed me. In Italy there are Fiorentina, Udinese and Napoli."

Is he any good ? Arsenal have a phenomenal record with young players, so i'd be surprised if Wenger let one of the better ones leave easily.

Its not THAT phenomenal. Its a bit of a myth really. Most of the really promising players have been let go as they cant make the step up.

The Premiership is littered with them, though - Pennant, Volz, Bentley - even their failures end up in the Premiership.

did you see the team they had out on Sunday?

There is a new internet phenomenon to rival Godwins law, that any mention of young players will inevitably lead to a disagreement over the success/failure of arsene wenger's record with young players.

The new Vieira/Keane? Aren't they all?

Yep, and whilst everything arsene touches turns to gold in the transfer market, the bad spell they had this year and last year isnt because they are not good enough (like us aparently) but its becasue the genius french coach is "reshaping" the team or going through a "transitional" period!.

Boro beat chelsea 2-1 earlier this year, did you see the team they had out!!!!

Can't really count Van persie as a player Wenger spotted and brought hrough. I've known about Van Persie about 3-4 years before he joined Arsenal. He was in Feyenoord's first team when he was very young.

OK, so basically we all know Arsenal have signed some superb youngsters over the years, we also know that such is the numbers they bring em in, they have signed many that havn't gone on to much as well - is it worth the argument? ;)

I'm sort of guessing we ain't interested in this Lupoli guy!

he took a risk on van Persie though, he was seen as a trouble-maker, even moreso than either Bellamy or Pennant.

He always comes across as a complete w*nker to me - petulant and arrogant.

It's an Arsenal prerequisite. You'd do well to identify anyone with even a passing invovlement with Arsenal that doesn't tick those boxes.

Im glad someone else see's all this, they're a f***ing horrible lot, Fabregas is becoming one of the worst for being a snidey little s***bag aswell.

Tell me you wouldn't sign him.

David Dein, Wenger, van Persie, Eboue, Henry, Lehmann, Fabregas, Ashley Cole, Pires, Vieira, the list is ENDLESS.

Eboue? What did he do? apart from dive ;)

Genuine question by the way, I've never even read an interview with him!

Being a diving, cheating, elbowing little c***, is all. But that's plenty.

Toure seems nice enough.

He scored a goal against us. Which makes him a c*** in my book.

I wouldnt sign him as we dont need him.

You wouldn't rather have him than Zenden? Not slagging Zenden, by the way.
