According to Finnish sports magazine Liverpool have offered 4 year contract to 15 year old Finnish attacking midfielder Lauri Dalla Valle.

Lauri was training with Liverpool last week and our coaches liked what they saw. Last year Lauri had contract with Inter Milan but he broke it up as he wasn't happy there.

Lauri is said to be one of the best junior prospects to ever come out of Finland and his technique is very good.

Reds to trial Finn starlet

By Jonne Ylanne - Created on 30 Aug 2006

Liverpool have invited Finnish starlet Lauri Dalla Valle over to Anfield for a trial.

Dalla Valle is regarded as one of the best young talents to ever come out of Finland.

The 14-year-old was snapped up by Italian giants Internazionale last year, but the youngster failed to settle in Italy.

Dalla Valle returned to Finland after just a few months in Milan and his progress has caught the attention of a host of clubs.

Liverpool are now ready to offer the teenager the chance to win a move to Anfield by offering him a trial.

Dalla Valle is expected to arrive in England next month so that Liverpool's coaching staff can cast an eye over him in training before deciding whether or not to pursue their interest.

Liverpool.no say he scored 80 goals and had 77 assists in 40 games last season

Found some info from the homepage of his Finnish club (www.jippo.fi):

Liverpool offers a contract to Lauri!

27.11.2006

Lauri's visit to Liverpool was successful and he's been offered a four-year contract to join Liverpool FC! The week long trip was no longer about testing Lauri's abilities but to give him a presentation on the club's operation.

Lauri can join the Liverpool academy immediately and the contract is waiting for Lauri's signature. Chief of the academy, Steve Heighway, stated that everything is OK on the club's part. Liverpool scout Ian Barringan thinks that one year in the academy is sufficient for Lauri. After that he can move to Melwood where Liverpool's reserves and 1st team train.

Very quick and dirty translation, BTW

Sounds exciting.

I like the fact that we no longer seem to only pick up youngsters from the local area. We'd all like a team of Carraghers but that ain't gonna happen :bleh:

Thanks for the translation btw!

Soon to follow in the illustrious ways of Haukur Gudnason!

Where's he from? Will Sami be able to speak to him?

Don't be ridiculous. Sami only speaks Big Finnish.
