CarraLegend Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Would you be happy with a draw? No, thats no use despite our woeful record at this s***hole.
M4TTA Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 my post got deleted, was only having a laugh :/
Alonso Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 So Rafa's team then. Anyone got any ideas? I think he'll go for: Reina Finnan Carra Hyypia Riise Pennant Alonso Gerrad Zenden Kuyt Bellamy Garcia might get a game ahead of Pennant if he's fit.

Think its nailed on Agger will start and Hyypia always looks a bit off after International games, I dont think he'll play Zenden on the left either. Think it'll be the team you've got with Agger in for Hyypia and Riise or Gonzalez at LM with Warnock or Aurelio at LB if Riise is pushed forward.

Andy @ Allerton Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 IF we can win this that could be a real sign of a turnaround at the club with every single hard away fixture out of the way. I'll have everything crossed.
Romario Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 IF we can win this that could be a real sign of a turnaround at the club with every single hard away fixture out of the way. I'll have everything crossed.Man U and Arsenal were the big turn arounds too. I'd be happy with a 0-0 draw or even a 1-1 draw would have me very upbeat as it would be progress.Don't conceed to many and actually score away from home in open play before xmas. Exciting times indeed.

Guest BrianF Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Can't see Hyppia starting after playing a full 90 minutes for Finland. I'd go with this team, depending on Garcia's fitness. Reina Finnan Carra Agger Riise Garcia Alonso Gerrard Gonzalez Kuyt Bellamy
Tyler Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Reina Finnan Carra Agger Riise AlonsoPennant Gerrard Aurelio Garcia Crouch Bring on Kuyt/Gonzalez if need to freshen up attack
RedMarauder Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Reina Finnan Carra Agger WarnockPennant Alonso Gerrard RiiseCrouch Bellamy Bellamy was on form for Wales, Crouch didn't play for England & Kuyt has been playing non stop. The Warnock / Riise combo provides a tighter midfield with Pennant on the right and now is the time for Agger to cement his place. Bench: Nice comfy cushions

Will Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Would you be happy with a draw?I would take it philosophically - esepcially a draw when we score from open play and theirs was a dodgy goal
CarraLegend Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I think Marc Gonzales will score tomorrow.

Garcia is nearly fit but not fit enough for this game according to Rafa at todays PC.
meepins Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I think Marc Gonzales will score tomorrow.I don't expect Gonzales to approach some form until spring time or there abouts, much like Garcia. He's certainly capable of chipping in a few in the meantime.
anny road Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 reina finnan carra agger riise Pennant gerrard alonso zenden crouch bellamy bench: dudek hyypia gonzales fowler kuyt
Guest redfromtubebar Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 ReinaFinnanWarnockAggerCarragherPennantRiiseAlonsoGerrardKuytBellamy I think we need to have at least one side of the pitch which we can trust. I wouldn't play both Gonzalez and Pennant as they are both out of form and occasionally you can bring one passenger with you but having two will have you found out. Warnock and Riise is a solid, unspectacular left side. We know that at the very least, they will both give it everything they have and Riise is always going to be a goal threat. Gerrard HAS to come into the centre for this one. I dread to think what the reaction would be like if he is on the right hand side again and the result didn't go our way. I would give Pennant another chance on the right. He has to come good at some stage. Why not today? Bellamy had a good game during the week and provides a good outlet with his pace while Kuyt is our most likely goal scorer so lets hope they can build on that partnership.
liverbird04 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/new...tic_welcome.php things haven't gotten this bad have they ? "Southgate offers under-fire Liverpool boss a sympathetic welcome"....
