Two weeks ago, we tore Aston Villa to shreds with GLORIOUS passing football. I'm f***in' BAFFLED as to why we can't do that away.

Agreed. Ppl need to be more balanced. A couple of articles in the Times are critical of Benitez today especially re his man management skills and Gerrard in the middle issue. Whilst I think Stevie is a better CM than Zenden I can see what Benitez is trying with Gerrard on the right - it gives balance to the team and he can drift inside and to the left when necessary. Something that made me angry was the insinuation (in the article) that as Benitez hasn't stayed at any club longer than 3 years we'll never find out his true character. The press never hounded Fergie for playing Beckham on the right or when he plays Giggs in CM or up front, at the end of the day it's down to putting out a side to beat the opposition. If I were in charge I'd have played SG in the middle on Sunday, but I don't think it would have changed the result if he had. I would like to hit the person questioning Alonso's ability in another thread...cant believe that one. When Chelsea come to our place and get battered Alonso will be the best passer in the world again and SG's inclusion on the right will be a masterstroke that Steve "I don't believe in that word entertainment" Mclaren will be only too happy to copy.
