What I remember of him was that he wasnt too bad! Gave all on the pitch and was proud to wear the LFC shirt. He added steel to our midfield and SG at the time was learning from Ince. I dont have bad memories of him.

orrible twunt is what Ince was.

As for Gerrard learning from players - I'd thank Gary Mac and Didi Hamann for being good mentors!

Was a good player but he didn't wear the shirt with pride. Everything he did, he did for paul ince.

Never really liked him before he joined, never really liked him when he was here, and don't really like him now.

However, of all the things he did for the scum, he made up for them by p*ssing them off when he joined us.

Hand on heart I was excited about him joining us, he was a world class player and the type of player we'd been lacking. I thought that his arrival wuld push us into winning the title again. Being 17 and a wool, his previous run in with the Mancs didn't matter that much to me, to be honest.

I just wanted us to win the league and have the best players.

Thought it was a mistake to sign him.

Nothing to do with him being an ex-manc. Just a player who was counting the wage packets until retirement.

He had his moments, not many mind you, but that equaliser against the mancs was priceless.

his job was to sit in the midfield to make the defence more solid, but he was more intersted in his own self glory.

is his son still at the liverpool academy?

Never really took to him, he was in the twilight of his career and his best days were long gone. Also a bigger t*** on the pitch that Bellamy could ever aspire to, and had a gob you just wanted to punch repeatedly.

Too insignicant a player for us for me to be bothered to care one way or the other about him really

Signed a self centred Manc reject. That was bad too take.

Anyone who tells people to refer too him as the "guvnor" want's tw4tting with a spade

We signed him after his best years were behind him. We were so lighweight there and Evans was so desperate to remedy that. There was a long period of one season however, when Ince and Redknapp were in my view, as good a central pairing as anyone else in the Premiership. Of course, when Redknapp wasn't available, there was less artistry and guile to go with the water-carrying.

In terms of attitude, he was no worse than Bellamy is now. Just as many are reevaluating Bellamy because he's now one of ours, that's what happened when we signed Ince. Once the red shirt goes over a player's head, we'll forgive him past misdeeds. Once it comes off, it's open season again.

He seemed to be a disruptive influence. Also think as said above he was way past his best when we got him.

Only good thing about him is the Mancs hate him more than some of us do.

Any Mancs know what the general feelings are to Schmiechel and Cole these days?

he was brought in to do a job for us, To some extent he did what he was asked to do.

unfortuneately for Liverpool FC, he was there at a time when the players rules the roost and got away with murder.

under a better manager, we might have got more out of him.

i wonder if we will ever sign ex man U players ever again.

all this talk about his attitude etc isn't true. i see him quite regularly and he's always got time for a chat and he's one of the most down to earth footballers i've met.

That's fair enough, but behind closed doors there is a different side.
