I know this isn't a Riise thread, but I think it needs emphasising just how sh*te he was yesterday. He was very, very sh*te indeed. His marking, crossing and passing were woeful, although to be fair there was one 50/50 challenge he didn't wuss out of.

I was simply driving home the point that just because there was no contact doesn't magically make something a yellow card rather than a red. Plenty of people have been sent off for similar challenges where no contact was made - plenty of people have seen yellow as well. Ergo, it could have gone either way. But simply saying because there was no contact automatically makes it a yellow is wrong.

There's nothing in the laws of the game that concurs with that viewpoint. If you swing a punch at someone you'll be sent off regardless of whether you connect or not.

It was clearly a penalty since Carragher was all over him. But there isn't a doubt in my mind that Lescott bent his knees and collapsed into Carragher to make a meal out of it. Can't really blame him, although it didn't work the bluenose c***.

Maybe you should take a bit of time to explain in detail what you're blathering on about then, because he's not the only one who doesn't know what you're on about. When everyone else is telling you you're wrong maybe you should take a step back and a) explain yourself more clearly or b) work out whether you are, in fact, just wrong.
