I think it's only to do with who plays on what days. Certain groups play on the Tuesday first, others the Wednesday. By the sounds of it they fiddle about as well for the sake of TV. Chelsea for example could only go into group D just then, not the other two that were left. By 'eck it's dull though.

Pretty much. Although to be fair he then went on to say that Chelsea and Liverpool play crap football and that their respective managers (at the time) hated flair and creativity because they didn't make it as players. So in essence, the fact that he's often misconstrued with regards the "s*** on a stick" comment is neither here nor there - he still put the boot in big time.
