That was my first thought, especially given the opposition. Maybe he wants to give Clyne and others more time in the 3-4-3 though, certainly works in at least 3 formations that line-up. -

I suppose the clue with the first leaked team, was the fact no sane person could suggest how on earth it could line up. -
If true it suggests BR has supporters on the board, who have thus far convinced Henry/Werner to stick. I'd say, like everyone else, their faith must be evaporating somewhat, as must Henry/Werner's willingness to listen. If anything, we seem to be seeing the kind of leaking that suggests he's on his last chance, at best. I think he's gone after the Derby unless there's an astonishing turn around in results and performances.

Agree re Clyne and to some extent Milner. Basically, the failure to get a LB in the Summer, given he appears to have given up on his £17M man as an option there, is proving more and more dumb by the game. Is there a young left footer that can step up, or can Moreno get another go. Either way, we need Gomez central.

He certainly did. Gomez/Sakho/Skrtel/Lovren/Toure would be my ranking of our CB's. Given the state of our LB situation, I guess that makes a back 3 the best option til we buy one who can defend and use his left foot.

Is right. Bizarrely, Phil was played mostly on the right in that game, both Lallana and Ibe to his left. Milner played from the centre with Henderson in a two. Milner's either been one of two CM's in a variation of a 4-2-3-1 (first 2 league games), or one of two ahead of a sitting Lucas as in Arsenal and Manc games. When he pushes on it's more often to the right, but he's definitely played as a centre mid every game so far.

Agree, but wouldn't judge Firmino when he was clearly playing an alien role to instruction. Need to get him higher up the pitch.

He was one of our better players, which tells us all you need to know I suppose.

Get rid. No excuse for that awful set up, feel sorry for the players to be honest, especially Gomez.
