    Jovanovic

With Torres, Yossi, Riera and Kuyt going, he'll probably get a game without being anywhere near peak condition....
  2. Cotterill's not that bad, surely? The main reason for picking Hodgson is because he comes cheap. Anyone got a long enough memory to remember Blackburn Rovers? He took over from Ray Harford and about 18 months later he was sacked. Blackburn were bottom of the league and I think in their last match they lost at home to Southampton. During that spell he bought some real turkeys (although he did bring in Kevin Davies) but that won't happen at Anfield because he won't get much money from transfers - it'll go to servicing the debt.
  3. And here's a question for you - how much of that 30 mln quid would go in the Yanks coffers and how much would Liverpool have to bolster transfer funds? I think you know the answer to that one already.
  4. The only way anyone will sit up and take notice - including the Yanks - is if everyone refuses to renew or buy a season ticket. Anything else will fail. But that's not going to happen is it so everything else is a waste of time and will leave Hicks etc completely unaffected.
  5. I'm not going to make any comment on the rights and wrongs of this in view of the fact that my action seems to have triggered off this thread. All I will say is I have no intention of paying anything to these clowns and if everyone else did the same, they would soon be forced out. However, I am realistic enough to realise that's not going to happen. However, my name was on two of those STs at £2,100 shot and the only people I can think of who might take these type of tickets up are corporate - assuming the economic situation doesn't discourage them. Oh, and I have supported the team for 67 years, by the way, and my passion doesn't waiver either. But I can't think of any more meaningful way personally for me to show my disgust. Pity more don't do it, that's all.

  7. And who should we get in to take the place of Kuyt?
  8. Not to mention the fact that only 37 percent of the players in the Premier League are English and that percentage will get progressively lower. His pool of players is decreasing by the year. That last line needs the horse laugh. Our targets will be gone before we have decided on a new manager. Silva is already on his way to Man City.
  9. Don't worry about it. He may well be England manager after next Wednesday and then we will be back to Kenny.
  10. But he still got rid of Beardsley a couple of seasons too soon, imo.
  11. Has he published that book yet? He managed to persuade quite a few fans to part with £5 to finance its issue but I never found out if he got it published, or indeed even wrote it!
  12. It doesn't matter how much Kuyt and Mascher go for, we know, don't we, that LFC won't see the money? Ergo, don't sell 'em and keep them to their contract.
  13. Insua is off to Fiorentina for three million, haven't you heard?
  14. But he's right. I would think the two sales set in concrete this close season will be Yossi for Chelski and Mascher for Barca - with the bulk of the money earned going to service the debt.
  15. The interesting thing about this year is that while there was quite a bit of interest to take the season tickets this time last year, there has been hardly any interest at all in taking them up for the 2010/2011 season. hmmm.
  16. It's going to be Ian Dowie. Interview next Monday......
  17. Don't care if he is or not. There's a saying "they never come back" Dalglish is not the answer.
  18. When Rafa goes, so will virtually all the backroom staff too. I can't think there has ever been a situation in the annals of British football when a chairman of a club has been a season ticket holder at another, rival club, has there? Stand by for the movement of Liverpool players arriving at Stamford Bridge, starting with Yossi and Torres. Followed by Reina, Riera, Maxi, Mascher and Gerrard going elsewhere. And the club won't see much of the transfer money either, will it? All our worst nightmares are coming true.

  20. I would suggest there are no Chinese walls here. Broughton knows all there is to know about our club. I wouldn't be the least surprised if he isn't passing some info along the line.....
  21. Season ticket holders ARE giving up their tickets, believe you me. And their attempts privately to offload their tickets to friends and fellow supporters etc have resulted in zilch. Expect gates to be lower this coming season if that is anything to go by......

  25. I'm in the Premier Club, upper tier of the Centenary Stand which includes upholstered seats, programmes etc. Cost is £2,100 for ALL home matches and chances for away games as well. This is hardly changed from the previous season AND this year it looks like it incorporates car parking as well, judging by the small print on the missive I've got. Incidentally, looks like I may not be able to go this season!
