Think Torres is over here, isn't he? He can't get to Spain. He's finished his season. Gravy is stranded in Spain and his brother in Lanzarote. Gravy is flying with Easijet and they've told him apparently it will be next Saturday at the earliest! And he is supposed to be running in the London Marathon the next day.....

Think you are absolutely right. I don't think there will be much money around for transfers this coming summer, despite all the transfer talk on this forum. We are treading water and will continue to do so while Laurel and Hardy have the purse strings. By the time they finally relinquish the reins, the opposition will be probably be out of sight. Personally, don't think overall there will be much in the way of worthwhile overseas players coming in anyway, if only because of the softness of sterling and the new tax rules. Whatever topclass players DO come through will go to the new top four.

I'm inclined to agree with that. Presumably you would put Agger in Insua's place? And why isn't anyone mentioning Benayoun? Midfield - Kuyt, Gerrard, Masch, Maxi. Upfront, Yossi and Torres. Simples

You're in for a disappointment. They could have finished the game 8-2 ahead. They could - and should - have had five goals before Babel went off. Nice to know there is another team apart from Liverpool who can miss gilt-edged chances regularly during a match. If it wasn't for the fact that we now have to get a leftback for the return, I would have said we may have a chance. I think it was proved last night that Insua is not the answer on the left flank. He had a nightmare, not for the first time.
